Will Ospreay Comments on Didn’t Want To Be Parody of Himself For Neck Injury Return
New Japan Pro Wrestling held a recent interview with Will Ospreay. One of the topics discussed included Ospreay’s thoughts about his recent return from his neck injury and surgery that kept him out of action for seven months and how he didn’t want to be a shadow or parody of himself for his return to the ring.
“I didn’t know how bad my neck really was until they told me I couldn’t wrestle. Coming back, the key thing for me was I didn’t want to be a shadow or a parody of myself in any way, so it made it all the more important to be able to show I could hang in Japan, at the same level of work ethic, both physically and in terms of my psyche.”
Jim Ross Says He Will Be On Commentary at AEW Double or Nothing 2026
A recent episode of the Grilling JR podcast featured co-host and AEW commentator Jim Ross revealing that he will be making a return appearance at AEW’s upcoming Double or Nothing 2026 event this May.
“I’m gonna be there. Gonna do some work. Don’t know exactly what yet, but whatever Tony Khan says, I’ll run the play. He’s so good to me in that respect. I don’t think he knows, as we speak, that I’m going to be available in Queens. We don’t talk about it. He’s got more on his plate than to worry about JR’s health.”
Ross also gave his thoughts about how he hopes to be able to call the New Yorj Street Fight I Quit match between Cage & Cope (Christian Cage & Adam Copeland) and FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at the event.
This will be Ross’ first appearance and commentary work in AEW since the January 7th episode of AEW Dynamite in his home state of Oklahoma.
Tony Schiavone Comments on Nigel McGuinness Being Best Color Analyst He’s Ever Worked With
A recent episode of the What Happened When with Tony Schiavone podcast featured Nigel McGuinness as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Schiavone’s thoughts about his work with McGuinness on commentary in AEW and McGuinness being the best color commentator he has ever worked with in his wrestling commentary career.
“Nigel is probably the best color analyst I’ve ever worked with, and I’ve worked with a lot of them. I say this because no one is prepared to do his job like Nigel McGuinness is. I know that I do not have to always get you [Nigel] up to date on the storylines, because I know Nigel is always prepared to do that [himself]. That means a lot to a guy in my position. An old guy can’t remember everything, and I can always lean on Nigel because he’s got these notes. That’s why I think he’s the best”
