Carlito Comments on Criticism of His Judgement Day Run in WWE & His Issues Over How It Ended
A recent episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast featured former WWE talent Carlito as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Carlito’s thoughts about his release from WWE in June of 2025 did not come as a surprise to him because he never approached WWE nor did they ask for a new contract extension.
“I signed for two years. They wanted me for three and I signed for two because, well, I didn’t think it was going to go as good as it did. That’s why I said I bet against myself and I would have got an extra year and then my, you know, then my contract would expire. But so, you know, ended up losing a year, but that’s all.”
Carlito also gave his thoughts about how his addition to The Judgment Day group was just a random idea that had no specific long-term plan after his return. Carltio also gave his thoughts about the online criticisms of his association with the group during his limited run in WWE.
“Yeah, it just happened organically, you know, like I said. So I said I was thinking like ‘Okay, how can I make this stand out, you know, do something here.’ So that was kind of where stuff, a lot of people get on me like, ‘oh, they made you look like a buffoon or whatever.’ I had fun with it. I enjoyed it. I thought it was fun.”
Carlito also gave his thoughts about the future of his in-ring wrestling career.
“Oh yeah, I’m getting there. I still got a little bit left in the tank. Not that I don’t want to do it anymore, just focusing more on the exit plan.
Carlito also gave his thoughts about what the exit plan looks like for him.
“It looks pretty good, man. The WWE run helped out a lot with that, with the retirement plan. So, yeah, a couple more years, and then I can ride off into the sunset.”
Carlito also gave his thoughts about if it could be five or ten more years for his in-ring career.
“No, probably around 5. 5 should be the goal.”

Nikki Bella Comments on Her Broken Ankle Injury Return Plans
As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella has been out of action for WWE since this past March due to a broken ankle injury and surgery.
USA Today Sports held a recent interview with Bella. One of the topics discussed included Bella’s thoughts about the idea of her potentially featuring on WWE television in a non-physical role while she is on the shelf with an ankle injury.
“I mean, I guess you’re going to have to tune in to find out, but you could, even though I kind of have this thing where I’m like, I feel like when you have an injury, like I did when it’s, right before WrestleMania and then Paige comes in and bring Paige win and they’re the tag champions. I feel like the moment of me returning has to be when I can be physical. Because it’s just, we’re almost there and I feel like it just has more impact. But hey, again, you never know because maybe they need me to help them win. Who knows? You know, it’s wrestling. That’s the beauty of it.”
