As noted before, WWE announced earlier today that they have officially pushed back the date for this year’s Money in the Bank event from its originally scheduled date of September 6 to a new date of October 10 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. During Monday’s WWE RAW show, it was announced that the next WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event show will be taking place on September 6 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that the reason why WWE officials changed the date for this year’s Money in the Bank event was due to a scheduling conflict with broadcast partners.
It was reported that WWE officials held internal discussions over the past month with key officials in the company being notified of the revision for the event’s date.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources stated that the reason for the date change was due to issues related to WWE’s touring schedule during that time of the year. Those spoken to reportedly stated that WWE’s production trucks would be too far away from New Orleans to hold the event on September 6 so the decision was made to move it to a different date instead.
