Former PROGRESS Co-Owner Says He Had Other Offers Before Sale to Nikki Cross & Big Damo
As noted before, former WWE talents Nikki Cross and Killian Dain, also known as Nikki Storm and Big Damo in the indies, acquired PROGRESS Wrestling and also became the new co-owners of DEFY Wrestling this past May.
Cultaholic held a recent interview with former PROGRESS co-owner Lee McAteer. One of the topics discussed included McAteer’s thoughts about his decision to sell the company to Cross and Big Damo and revealed that he had offers from others that were for more money.
“I wanted to give it to the people that I feel as though can take it further than I could. If that ever happened or if it came about, I was willing to basically move it forward. For me, I had dinner with Damo and Rockstar Spud…had dinner with them in Vegas and we chatted about a few different things, and one thing led to another, and the opportunity kind of was there and I just felt as though it was the right time to move it forward because I legitimately, and hand on heart, I feel as though they will take it to a level that I wasn’t able to do,” he said.
Nick Wayne Reflects on NJPW Best of the Super Juniors 2026 Was Best Performance & Experience of His Life
Nick Wayne recently reflected on Twitter about his performance in this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament for New Japan Pro Wrestling and how he felt it was the best performance in his wrestling career and experience of his life so far.
“Best of the Super Jrs. 33
For the 2nd year in a row, I was able to compete in such a historic tournament and wrestle under the NJPW lights once again. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss that.
14 matches, 9 singles tournament matches, 10 points, main evented Korakuen Hall and KBS Hall, 2 semi-main events—I think I can confidently say I made an even bigger impact this year.
Although my goal of becoming the youngest winner wasn’t met, there is still a little time left to achieve it.
I believe this year’s tournament was the best performances and experience of my life. I got to live a dream, meet so many supportive fans, and wrestle some of the best competition in the world. I’m honored that I was given the opportunity to showcase myself on such a grand stage.
Even though I didn’t win, I hope I proved that I could be in the conversation as one of the best junior heavyweights going today.
Forever grateful. Until next time, New Japan Pro-Wrestling”
