Callum Newman Provides Shoulder Injury & G1 Climax 2026 Status Update

As noted before, Callum Newman recently confirmed that he had suffered a shoulder injury during his match against Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at this past Sunday’s NJPW Dominion 2026 event.

Newman provided an update on Wednesday on Twitter about his shoulder injury and status for this year’s G1 Climax tournament.

“I’ve got a point to prove. I’ll do the G1 Climax with one arm if I have to.”

Newman is currently scheduled to be competing in B Block in this year’s G1 Climax tournament, which starts on July 11 in Chicago, Illinois.

Matt Hardy Comments on Tommy Dreamer’s Departure from TNA

As noted before, TNA Head of Talent Relations and booker Tommy Dreamer departed from TNA Wrestling on Wednesday.

A recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast featured co-host Matt Hardy giving his thoughts about Dreamer’s departure from TNA and his reaction when he found out.

“I was not aware of that, so that is breaking news to me. It’s interesting, it’s intriguing. I certainly enjoyed working with Tommy, I enjoyed working with Tommy all the way back to the House Of Hardcore days, whenever he was doing that show. I always thought he had a good pulse on pro wrestling, where it is, and where it’s going. He stayed pretty current with things but things change. I got lots of love for Tommy, no doubt about it. I loved working with Tommy, really enjoyed working with Tommy. Very interesting to see what happens next at TNA.”

Hardy also gave his thoughts about Dreamer’s booking philosophy in TNA.

“I think he tried to mirror as much as he could of the ECW mindset like this is what the fans think of these people, so let’s give them that as much we can or let’s make the most out of whoever we can by highlighting the strengths, trying to hide their weaknesses to make him into a player. Nobody did that better than Paul Heyman and still doesn’t. ECW was a masterclass on taking guys that weren’t extremely talented and highlighting their strengths and getting them over. 911, a great example. Paul E positioned people in positions where they could succeed because he highlighted their strengths and tried to cover up and protect their weaknesses as much as possible and use them in a way where they seemed like a very big deal. So many people got signed out of ECW, it was one of those places where if the big money of WCW or WWE came calling and they couldn’t match it, then the talent had to go on and then he had to make new people. I’ve said this several times in the past, I feel like that’s kind of where TNA is at right now.”

Hardy also gave his thoughts about Dreamer having an unfair reputation in the world of wrestling as a booker.

“I think so. I think it has been a little unfair, no doubt. I said that earlier today, I said him and Delirious are quite overworked, you know? They’re very busy cause there’s only two guys doing that. But, I think he has done a lot of good for TNA and I’m very curious to hear the motivation behind why he is stepping away.”

Pro Wrestling Australia recently announced that MJ Eagles, daughter of legendary Australian female wrestler Madison Eagles, will make her official in-ring wrestling career debut at their King Of The Metro event on July 4 in Sydney, Australia.

Scenic City recently announced that the late Jimmy Rave is the first official inductee for this year’s Scenic City Hall of Fame class.

Wednesday’s CMLL Informa show featured CMLL announcing that this year’s Men’s Grand Prix event will be taking place on August 7 at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico.

CMLL also recently announced one new match for the card of their Arena Coliseo de Guadalajara 67th Anniversary event on June 23rd at the Arena Coliseo de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico:

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Major League Wrestling and indies talent and actor Paul Walter Hauser was not in attendance at last week’s MLW tapings due to him currently being away for the filming of a television show. It was reported that Hauser is currently expected to be away from MLW and wrestling until this September due to filming commitments. Hauser last wrestled this past April in the indies and last worked for MLW this past March.
