Video: “Main Man” Oro

We began tonight’s action from Jacksonville, FL with a recap of how “Main Man” Oro earned his shot at Lio Rush’s RoH World Television Title, which will open tonight’s show.

“Main Man” Oro vs. “Blackheart” Lio Rush (c)

Rush hesistated to hand over his all-black World TV Title to referee Mike Posey, but eventually did so as this opening bout got underway.

Rush slithered over and overextended the Code of Honor handshake and got a slap from Oro as a result. This prompted Rush to respond by choking Oro. Waistlock by Oro led to a kick from Rush, followed by the clothesline. Oro rolled out of the ring with a suitably freaked out expression on his face due to Rush’s eccentricness. Oro took Rush’s customized RoH TV Title and used it as a distraction to nail him with a pair of thrust kicks. Oro tried to kick from the corner, but Rush struck him with a chop to the chest. Oro responded as he put Rush on the top rope and looked for a superplex. Rush bit at Oro’s hand, but he got hit with the wallwalker moonsault Pele kick from Oro.

Oro blasted the spine of Rush with a kick to the back, as he followed that with a very hard Irish whip to the corner. Oro mocked Rush for a bit as he lifted him up for a modified Razor’s Edge. Rush escaped as he and Oro engaged in a battle of chops. Rush’s momentum was stalled by a capoeira kick from Oro as both men were left down on the mat.

Both Rush and Oro got to their feet as the Television Champ nailed his signature basement springboard Stunner for a near-fall. Rush hit an incredible leaping kick afterwards as he avoided Oro’s thrust kick. He couldn’t avoid Oro’s pop-up Pele kick for a close two-count. Rush once more bit at Oro’s hand, which left him open for the Stunner. Double heel kick by Rush sent Oro down to the outside. Beast hope by Rush led to the suicide dive. Back in the ring, Rush put Oro away with Black Thunder to end this.

Winner: “Blackheart” Lio Rush via Pinfall to retain the ROH World Television Championship.

After the match, Action Andretti attacked Rush as he choked his former friend out.

Alan Angels vs “The Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith

Keith took off his poncho and threw it at Angels to get an early blindside attack in as the bell rang. Keith continued the attack with chops to the chest, followed by the exploder suplex. As Angels struggled to his feet, Keith maintained the relentless onslaught with a pair of chops. However, Angels blocked Keith’s suplex attempt and fought back with some strikes of his own. He landed on his feet on an attempted Keith back suplex, as he bounced off the ropes and rolled up Keith for a near-fall. Angels leapt off the top roe for a crossbody for another two-count.

In the corner, Angels attacked Keith with a chop to the chest and tried to go up top. Keith tripped him up, which left Angels open for a Tiger Driver backbreaker for a two-count. Keith pummeled Angels in the corner with a kick as he then choked him with his foot. Angels was still on the backfoot as Keith took a methodical approach to his offense. Another exploder suplex by Keith, but Angels manged to kick out once more.

Turnabout was fairplay as Angels used the poncho to his advantage to catch Keith offguard with a dropkick. Angels was on fire with a nice single-leg dropkick that flattened Keith. Angels avoided a Keith clothesline with an acrobatic dodge as he caught his foe in a modified RIngs of Saturn. Keith used his foot to break the agonizing hold. On the apron, Keith had Angels in a compromising position, but the latter escaped with an enzuigiri. The attempted cannonball dive by Angels was a big swing and a miss as Keith got out of the way. With Angels all the worse for wear, Keith called his shot. A defiant slap from Angels was met with a hard knee to the face from Keith. The Emerald Tiger Driver by Keith put this one in the books.

Winner: “The Bounty” Hunter Bryan Keith via Pinfall.

B3CCA vs. Billie Starkz

Starkz pushed B3CCA into the ropes and gave her a slap to the face. B3CCA escaped Starkz’s waistlock and fought back with a shotgun dropkick to the corner. Starkz aggressively hit back with a dropkick, followed by a backbreaker-into-a-faceslam to the corner. Starkz punched away at B3CCA in the corner and taunted the Jacksonville crowd. With B3CCA down on the mat, she was choked on the bottom rope by the boot of Starkz.

Starkz trashtalked one too many times and got hit with some strikes from B3CCA. That did very little as Starkz held the advantage again. B3CCA’s attempts at blocking a Starkz suplex was met with some punches. B3CCA tried agian with the strikes as she now had the advantage in the corner. A barrage of running attacks by B3CCA appeared to turn the tide, but Starkz intercepted her foe at the top rope. Starkz lifted her up for a modified Ushigoroshi for a near-fall. Starkz yelled at the referee, but it opened her up to B3CCA’s Pele kick. B3CCA slowly got up to the top rope, but Starkz again caught her. Starkz’ high risk attempt was turned into a throw to the mat by B3CCA.

On the top rope, B3CCA missed with the 450 Splash. This left her at the mercy at Starkz’ face-first slam for the three.

Backstage: Adam Brooks

We got remarks from Adam Brooks, who promised to dominate Ring of Honor after showing his stuff on Collision recently against Will Ospreay.

Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari & Tony Nese) vs. The Dark Order (Alex Reynolds & Evil Uno)

Uno and Daivari got this match going for their respective teams. Daivari went for a side headlock, but got taken down easily by an Uno shoulder block. Nese kicked at Uno’s back to slow the momentum, as it led to all four men in the ring. Nese was left isolated by the Dark Order, who got him with a nice double team effort.

Uno bit at the arm of Nese, but the throat thrust changed things fast. The Athletes double teamed Uno with punches in the corner, but they got taken for a noggin-knocker by Uno not long after. Reynolds entered the fray and hit Nese with the drive-by dropkick. Big lariat by Reynods on Uno got only a two. Reynolds battered Nese with repeated elbow strikes, followed by a big running elbow attack that sent him down to the ground. As Reynolds headed to the top rope, Beef appeared on the stage, which allowed the Premier Athletes to gain the advantage on Reynolds.

Tag to Daivari, who hit Reynolds with an axe-handle to the ribs. The chinlock by Daivari was applied with great pressure, but not good enough as Renyolds attempted to escape. Daivari choked Renyolds across the middle rope, as Mark Sterling attacked him behind the referee’s back. Beef got into an argument with Daivari at ringside, which allowed Reynolds to hit him with an enzuigiri. Nese entered the match and missed with the moonsault, which finally gave Reynolds the opportunity to get the hot tag to Evil Uno.

The Mystery Wrestling mastermind was on fire with freight-train clotheslines to Daivari and Nese across opposite corners. Big boot by Uno to both men led to a double DDT. Reynold tagged in as the Dark Order was in full effect with double team clotheslines, slams, and splashes. Nese broke out the subsequent count and threw Uno out of the ring. Daivari and Nese had Reynolds at their mercy, but Daivari with the malfunction at the junction with a clothesline that inadvertently hit Nese. On the apron, the front face DDT by Uno left Daivari stunned as Reynolds soared over the top rope with the cannon ball. Mark Sterling ordered Beef to attack, but he went for it himself. Clothesline by Reynolds led to Beef flying in with the crossbody, as Nese then got the win with the Running Kneese.

Winner: Premier Athletes via Pinfall.

RPG Vice (Rocky Romero & Trent Beretta) vs. Alex Zayne & Mance Warner

Collar and elbow tie-up by Mance and Romero to start, but it was the former who got the upper hand with a barrage of strikes in the corner. Zayne stepped in with a kick to Romero as Mance then followed up with an attack in the corner. More biting action as Zayne and Mance took turns to take a bit out of Romero’s hand. Beretta tagged in and immediately struck down Zayne with a clothesline. Zayne attempted to fight back and he got both RPG Vice members in a dual hurricanrana. Both Mance and Zayne looked for a dive, or in the former’s case, an enhanced poke to the eyes to both Romero and Beretta. This led to Zayne taking off over the top rope with a diving attack.

Zayne went for a springboard attack, but Romero tripped him up, which left him alone for the double stomp/DDT by RPG Vice. Zayne somehow kicked out at two. Beretta kept Zayne isolated as he and Romero crushed him with repeating clotheslines. This was followed by a fantastic double team move for the near-fall. RPG maintained control of this match, until they got sent for a ride with the double ranas by Zayne, followed by the double dropkick. The hot tag to Mance, who cracked both Beretta and Romero with jabs and the triple twist windup elbows. Pop-up headbutt by Mance led to the running knee on Beretta. Mance looked for some thing big, but Beretta got out of it. Meanwhile, Zayne blind tagged, unbeknownst to RPG Vice.

Zayne launched himself for the springboard Side Effect for the near-fall. Beretta hit Zayne with the lowblow out of the referee’s view, which led to the Strong Zero/Double Stomp combination for the win.

Winner: RPG Vice via Pinfall.

After the match, Mance tried to protect Zayne from RPG Vice’s wrath, but a lowblow from Beretta put a stop to that. They looked to hit the Strong Zero/Doubler Stomp, but Eddie Kingston and Ortiz ran down to ward off RPG Vice.

Backstage: Nathan Cruz

We got remarks from Nathan Cruz, who looked like he wanted to “welcome” Adam Brooks to RoH in his own way.

Jacked Jameson vs. Satnam Singh

Jameson looked to try his hand in attacking Satnam, but that did little as he got hit with a headbutt. The chokeslam, but Jameson escaped it. Satnam got back on top with a running attack to the corner as he slapped the chest of his foe twice. Big Biel throw from Singh, who caught Jameson after a crossbody attempt. The scoop slam sent Jameson out of the ring. Jameson took advantage by using the middle ropes to hit Singh in between. That didn’t seem to do much good, but Jameson stomped on Satnam and hit him with the Tiger Feint Press. A leap from the top rope was intercepted by a unique cutter from Satnam, who won this handily.

Winner: Satnam Singh via Pinfall.

Video: Deonna Purrazzo

Caprice asked Purrazzo how it felt to become Ring of Honor’s Womens’ Champion. Purrazzo said that she was proud to carry the RoH Women’s Title through a weird transition period for the company, but being the Pure Champion was a different beast altogether.

Caprice asked Purrazzo about her inspirations for being the Pure Champion. Purrazzo answered that Jay Lethal was a great inspiration for her. Caprice discussed how Purrazzo had a life outside of pro wrestling and wanted to know what she thought of fans having opinions about that.

Purrazzo talked about how she went back to school and helped veterans and first responders with her husband. She discussed that the Internet’s chatter didn’t matter because she was happy about what she did in and out of the ring.

Caprice praised Purrazzo for being a great wrestler and a great person before he asked her what she wanted the Women’s Pure Division to be like in the future. Purrazzo said that she wanted people to see the Women’s Pure Division to be seen in the same light as the Women’s Division with her title being defended in main events across RoH and AEW.

Lacey Lane vs. Hyan

With a Code of Honor handshake, this one was off to the races. Lacey had Hyan in an arm wrench, but she couldn’t maintain it. We had an acrobatic standoff between the two before the collar-and-elbow tie-up. Hyan went for a running splash in the corner, but Lane dodged it. Question mark kick attempt by Lacey but Hyan reversed it into a pin attempt. Big boot by Hyan didn’t lead to much as she was left in a prone position in the corner for Lacey’s running dropkick.

Hammerlock by Lacey left Hyan open for repeated chops to the chest. Hyan got out of it and went for a pin. Low kick to the face by Lacey got Hyan right on the button, but it wasn’t enough. Lacey had the sleeper on Hyan, who used the corner to break out of it. Lacey bounced right back and applied the hold, but she got powered out of it. Hyan fought back with elbows to the face and the running knee to Lacey. Hyan hoisted Lacey for a back suplex and a two-count. Hyan measured Lacey for the knee to the side of the face, followed by the Falcon Arrow. One, two…. no. Lacey immediately went for the cover and couldn’t get it. Lacey avoided a running shoulder thrust from Hyan as she then capitalized with the kick. That still wasn’t enough for the three.

Both women traded headbutts before Lacey rolled through with the twisting grapevine and the downstairs Yakuza kick. Facebuster by Lacey, but Hyan kicked out in time. Lacey grabbed a hold of Hyan’s arm, but couldn’t send her for the whip. Hyan and Lacey traded boots, but it was Hyan who got the better here with the spear. Hyan lifted her up for the Chickenwing Facebuster and the three.

Winner: Hyan via Pinfall.

Nathan Cruz vs. Adam Brooks

Cruz used his British style of submission techniques to keep Brooks grounded, but the Aussie responded with an attempted headlock. Lots of great chain wrestling from Brooks and Cruz until a shoulder tackle from the former quickened the pace. Mid-air dropkick by Brooks provided a nice anti-air counter to the Cruz leapfrog. Cruz, who looks like a hybrid Hangman Page & Will Ospreay, responded with a big knee to the face. Cruz’s attempted Irish Whip was blocked by Brooks, who slid to counter it. Brooks blasted Cruz with a big boot, but couldn’t get the dive off as a kick stopped him. Slingshot back suplex by Cruz only got a two.

Brooks’ jaw was cracked by a running snapmare from Cruz. The resthold by Cruz wasn’t able to be kept in as Brooks fought out of it. Fisherman suplex was blocked by Cruz, but the slingshot back suplex from him was turned into a lungblower from Brooks. He followed that up with a suicide dive between the ropes. Running kicks from Brooks was followed by the sitdown powerbomb. One, two…. 2.9999999!!!!!!!! Crossface attempted by Brooks, but Cruz rolled it through for a pin attempt. Big kick by Brooks as he couldn’t capitalize with the face slam from Cruz. Clothesline and Falcon Arrow combow from Cruz couldn’t get the the three.

Cruz went to the top rope, but he was met with a kick from Brooks. Cruz pushed him off, but Brooks bounced back and hit the superplex-into-brainbuster combo. Massive swanton by Brooks and the big victory here for the RoH debutee.

Backstage: RPG Vice

RPG Vice’s Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero were seen backstage and gave their grievances about how they only signed up to ROH for easy matches and wins since that is what Don Callis got for them. Beretta and Romero talked about that is not what happened for them tonight and brought up their issues with Eddie Kingston and Ortiz getting involved after their match.

“The Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington vs. Komander

Collar and elbow tie-up duel between Billington and Komander to start, but it’s the Brit who got the upper hand with a standing shoulder tackle. Komander escaped Billington’s wristlock with a moonsault, but he got taken for a ride by Billington afterwards. Up and over went Komander as the pace began to quicken at this stage of the match.

Komander sent Billington and himself out of the ring with a big crossbody. Outside the ring, the two men brawled it out. Komander sent Billington into the barricade, but he couldn’t connect with the dive to the outside. Billington responded with a dropkick to Komander and a gutwrench suplex. Billington kept momentum in his favor with a snap suplex. The match slowed down in Billington’s favor as he stretched Komander’s arms. Billington’s hold was broken when Komander used his speed to leap from the rop eand hit a nice armdrag. Kick to the midsection by Komander led to the springboard tejaras that sent Billington out of the ring. Komander sized up Billington and headed up top for his high-wire splash from the ropes to the floor below.

Komander headed to the top rope and connected with the springboard 450. One, two… no dice. As Billington tried to get back up, Komander looked for something big. Whip to the ropes, but Komander leapt off and dodged Billington. Piledriver reversed twice, but Billington finally connected with it. Up to the top ropes as Billington missed with the big headbutt. Both men staggered to their feet, but it was Billington who struck first with the elbows to the face of Komander. The two exchanged elbows to the face, with neither gaining the upper hand. Billington went for the crucifix driver pin, but Komander kicked out at two. Komander put Billington on the top rope, but the son of the Dynamite Kid used headbutts to block it. That couldn’t save him as he was left in a stunned position across the top ropes for the hurricanrana driver. Komander then hit his signature Shooting Star Press for the victory.

Winner: Komander via Pinfall.

Eight-Man Tag Team Match
SkyFlight (Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin), Scorpio Sky, & Matt Sydal) vs. Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor, Anthony Ogogo & The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Capt. Shawn Dean))

Our main event this evening kicked off Bravo piefacing Dante instead of the Code of Honor. Bravo connected with a shoulder block as the two exchanged armdrags. Fast-paced action to start as Scorpio Sky tagged in. The Captain entered the match for STP, as they isolated Scorpio from the Skyflight corner. Dean missed with the running attack, which gave Scorpio the opening to hit the sunset flip pin for a two-count. Sydal tagged in and blasted the Captain with a superkick. Standing moonsault by Sydal as Darius and Bravo soon tagged in for their teams.

Superkick by Darius sent Ogogo to the floor, but Bravo threw him into the ringpost, which left Darius at the mercy of the STP assault at ringside. Ogogo tagged in and teed off with some British-grade stomps on Darius, followed by a ruthless lariat. Darius remained behind enemy lines as STP continued to command this match. STP’s namesake blasted Darius with a heavy elbow to the face, but that couldn’t keep him down. Knee to the face by Shane Taylor led to a big uranage and a titanic leg drop. However, Darius kicked out. Again, STP had the advantage with Dean had Darius at his mercy for the B.B.C. and the very entertaining smacktalk from Carlie Bravo.

Darius turned it around and got the hot tag from Matt Sydal, who used his fast kicks to leave the Infantry disoriented. Big knee to Ogogo by Sydal, but the crossbody was caught as he connected with the swingout slam. Big blowout from STP on Sydal, the SkyFlight team broke up the count. Things eventually broke down, but it was Ogogo and Sydal as the legal men. Sky lifted Ogogo up and hit him with the Complete Shot. Sydal was cleared for takeoff with the Meteora and the big pinfall win.

As the show ended, the commentators hinted that STP might’ve had gotten some influence on the Martin brothers despite the loss.
