Chris Jericho Comments on “AEW Has Never Worried About WWE… We’ve Only Worried About Our Own Product”

SHAK Wrestling held a recent interview with Chris Jericho. One of the topics discussed included Jericho’s thoughts about the respective perception changes for WWE and All Elite Wrestling about each other.

“I think it’s the same as always in that we’ve never worried about WWE, ever. Ever. We’ve only worried about our own show, our own product, the quality of what we’re doing, and it’s not a perceived upswing (for AEW). You can see in the numbers. Tickets sold, the ratings.”

In a separate recent interview with Beef Vegan, Jericho also gave his thoughts about how he had never heard of the “pocket sand” meme from animated series King of the Hill before his match against Tommaso Ciampa at this past July’s AEW Dynamite Beach Break 2026 show.

“We had sand in Clearwater because it was Beach Break, and then everyone was talking about pocket sand from King of the Hill. This time, I actually put a bunch of sand in my pocket and used pocket sand. That’s only because fans brought it up. I had never heard of pocket sand on King of the Hill before so I said, ‘Let me use it in the next match. I’ll put a pocket on my outfit and put some sand in it.'”

AEW Releases “Rebel’s Story” Video Spotlighting Rebel’s Battle with ALS

As noted before, Rebel, real name Tanea Brooks, was diagnosed with terminal ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) this past May. AEW has released a special “Rebel Heart” merchandise with 100% of the profits going to support those affected by ALS. Rebel became an ambassador for the I AM ALS organization this past June. AEW will be holding a special themed “Rebel Heart” episode of AEW Dynamite on September 9 in Athens, Georgia in honor of Rebel.

AEW recently released a new video titled “Rebel’s Story” spotlighting Rebel’s battle with terminal ALS.
