Backstage Update on Decision For Baron Corbin’s WWE United States Title Victory at SummerSlam 2026

As noted before, this past Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 event in Minneapolis, Minnesota featured Baron Corbin defeating Trick Williams to become the new WWE United States Champion.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE officials’ decision to have Corbin win the title only came together recently.

It was reported that a number of people backstage were surprised by the decision to have Corbin win and take the title off of Williams.

Netflix Censors Out Becky Lynch’s Line About Liv Morgan Sleeping With Dominik Mysterio From 8/3 WWE RAW Show VOD Version

In recent weeks, Netflix has been releasing edited versions of Video On Demand replay versions of WWE RAW shows and this past June’s WWE Night of Champions 2026 event due to blood and vulgar words-related issues.

Netflix released an edited VOD version of the August 3rd episode of WWE RAW that featured a line being removed from Becky Lynch’s promo on the show.

During the show, Lynch made her surprise return and confronted WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Judgement Day. In her promo, Lynch stated that Morgan is not even the greatest Women’s Champion who has slept with Dominik Mysterio in reference to Mysterio’s past relationship with Rhea Ripley in Judgement Day.

While this line aired on the live broadcast of the show, it was fully removed by Netflix for the edited VOD version.

Drew McIntyre WWE Abscense Update

As noted before, Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE since this past April’s WrestleMania 42 event due to his filming commitments for the upcoming Highlander reboot film. During his time away, McIntyre also joined the cast of the upcoming new The Last Druid film and has been involved in the filming for it as well.

Actor and film director Russell Crowe recently provided an update on Instagram stating that he and McIntyre recently finished up the shoot on the upcoming The Last Druid film in Spain.

“In the gym with Drew McIntyre. Good lad. Salt of the earth. Just finishing up the shoot on The Last Druid. We have been shooting in Spain since May. It has been two years now since playing Hermann Goering in Nuremberg. The long sweaty days in the beautiful Spanish sunshine have definitely been a great motivator. As I always say, it’s one layer of tissue paper at a time. Consistency is your friend.”
