As noted before, Rebel, real name Tanea Brooks, was diagnosed with terminal ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) this past May. AEW has released a special “Rebel Heart” merchandise with 100% of the profits going to support those affected by ALS. Rebel became an ambassador for the I AM ALS organization this past June. AEW will be holding a special themed “Rebel Heart” episode of AEW Dynamite on September 9 in Athens, Georgia in honor of Rebel.
In recent weeks, several AEW talents and personalities have been participating and challenging their co-workers to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in support of Rebel. Besides those associated with AEW, others from within the wrestling world have also been nominated to participate in the challenge.
Nattie, real name Natalya Neidhart, and former WWE wrestler and current WWE producer TJ Kidd, real name TJ Wilson, recently participated in the challenge and posted a video on Instagram.
In their video, Nattie and Wilson accepted the challenge from Rebel and Beth Phoenix and nominated Angelo Dawkins, Bayley, and Brodie Lee Jr.
