Konosuke Takeshita Makes Surprise AEW Return

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore, Maryland featured Konosuke Takeshita making a return to AEW.

During the show, AEW International Champion Kyle Fletcher came out to the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone. After some words about him trusting Don Callis’ plan to have him defend his title in a three-way match at All In 2026, Fletcher turned his attention towards one of his opponents, Konosuke Takeshita and proceeded to bad mouth him.

This led to Takeshita’s music playing and came out to the ring resulting in a brawl breaking out between the two at that ended with Takeshita laying out Fletcher with a Raging Fire and held up the AEW International title.

This was Takeshita’s first appearance in AEW since this past July’s Dynamite Beach Break 2026 show due to him being in Japan to compete for NJPW’s G1 Climax tournament this year.

Gabe Kidd Makes Surprise AEW Return

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured Gabe Kidd making a surprise return and reuniting with The Dogs.

Following Jon Moxley’s victory over Jay White in a Quarterfinal Round match in the AEW Continental Challenge Cup, White paid some respect to Moxley before Moxley and Marina Shafir left. This led to The Dogs’ Clark Connors & David Finlay running out attacking White as The Conglomeration’s Orange Cassidy and Kyle O’Reilly ran out for the save. This then led a brawl breaking out between the two teams resulting in Kidd running out and helping out his fellow The Dogs pals. This then led to Roderick Strong running out trying to save The Conglomeration only to get quickly beaten down by The Dogs before Hangman Page, Bandido, and Brody King came out to put an end to the whole brawl.

This was Kidd’s first appearance in AEW since this past April due to a shoulder injury and him being away in Japan competing in NJPW’s G1 Climax 2026 tournament.

AEW World Trios Titles Open Challenge Match Set for AEW All In 2026

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured one new match announced for the card of All In 2026, which takes place on August 30 at Wembley Stadium in London, England.

This new match announced was an AEW World Trios Championship Open Challenge match of mystery opponents vs. The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly (Hangman Adam Page, Bandido, & Brody King) (c).

This new match was setup following an in-ring brawl between The Conglomeration and The Dogs and a promo involving The Demand, The Lethal Twist, and Hangman Page.

In a follow-up segment, Prince Nana and Swerve Strickland were seen backstage. Strickland responded to Page’s challenge saying he better be careful what he wishes and teased again of him bringing in a new group to AEW soon.

Jon Moxley & Nigel McGuinness Advances in Continental Cup

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured two Quarterfinal Round matches in the AEW Continental Challenge Cup tournament.

The first match was Jon Moxley defeating Jay White.

The second match was Nigel McGuinness defeating Hechicero.

As a result of their victories, Moxley and McGuinness advances to the Semifinal Round of the AEW Continental Challenge Cup tournament.

Steven Borden Make Surprise Appearance

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show also featured Sting’s son Steven Borden making a surprise appearance.

During the show, TNT Champion “The Jet” Kevin Knight came out to the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone only for Knight to tell Schiavone to leave the ring. Knight then talked about Darby Allin ahead of their Falls Count Anywhere match for his title at All In. Knight then called Allin out for a chat, which led to Allin’s music playing and him coming out to the ring. Before Allin could continue, Knight demanded that Allin prove he doesn’t have any explosives or weapons on him, which Allin responded by opening up his jacket and turning around in a full circle to prove he had nothing. As Allin was about to walk down the ramp, the stage’s pyro went off laying out Allin who stumbled down the ramp.

Knight attacked Allin and wrapped a chair around Allin’s head for a Coast To Coast dropkick. As Knight left, AEW medics and Borden showed up to check on Allin leading to a stretcher being brought out and a neck brace being placed around Allin’s neck.

In a follow-up segment, Borden was seen helping stretcher out Allin to an ambulance backstage only for Knight to show up to stop them. Knight told Borden that he shouldn’t get involved in this. Borden responded attempting to lunge at Knight before being told by Allin this wasn’t the time to do so as Knight mocked both of them before walking away.

This was Borden’s first televised appearance in AEW since Revolution 2023 in March of 2023 for his father Sting’s retirement match with Allin against The Young Bucks.
