As noted before, former WWE and AEW talent Mercedes Martinez had announced this past January that 2026 would be the final year of her full-time in-ring wrestling career. Martinez’s retirement tour was cut short earlier this month due to her recently suffering a torn ACL injury.
Martinez provided an update on Tuesday on Twitter announcing that she has launched a GoFundMe fundraiser to help assist with her medical bills. Martinez stated that due to her being uninsured, she must pay for her ACL surgery before it can be scheduled and performed.
Aug. 15, I tore my right ACL.
After nearly 26 years in wrestling, I’m facing surgery, rehab & months w/o income.
I never thought I would ask for help, but I need you all.
If you can donate/ share, ❤️ thank you.
