Pre-Show Arrivals

The show began with the Traditional Wrestlers Arriving To Work montage in which we learned that Mr Iguana and La Yesca got married? To each their own I suppose! GM Rey Mysterio arrived with El Grande Americano who will be in Rey’s corner later tonight.

Rey then walked us through a taped retrospective of Triplemania and what it’s meant to Lucha Libre over the years.

Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match
Adelicious, Mascarita Sagrada, & Mini Vikingo vs. Lady Shani, Jack Cartwheel, & Mini Abismo Negro

Initially, this was billed as a Relevos Australianos match which has it’s own set of rules, but no one mentioned that during the introductions, so I’m assuming we’re sticking with regular six-person tag rules. Mini Vikingo got a big cheer from the crowd and if you haven’t seen this kid wrestle, you are in for a treat. Also, Sagrada and Mini Abismo have been feuding for over two decades.

Adelicious and Shani started things off with Shani throwing some kicks and catching Adelicious with a takedown a a couple quick pin attempts. Then it seemed like Shani hurt herself in some way and the match came to a halt while the Ref checked on her. Medical staff came down to the ring to tend to her on the outside.

The match continued and Sagrada tagged in to renew his rivalry with Negro. Sagrada hit a facebuster on Negro and then flipped over the ropes in a senton. Negro tagged in Cartwheel and that brought in Vikingo. They are both pulling double duty this weekend and immediately the speed picked up and they flipped and, well, cartwheeled in tandem.

Vikingo got a foot in Cartwheel’s face, but Cartwheel got back into it with a slamstand over the ropes for a cover. Cartwheel tagged Negro who did handsprings into Vikingo and then set him up for an airplane spin. Negro dropped Vikingo with a vertical suplex and then a senton for a two count.

Negro shoved Sagrada off the apron as Cartwheel tagged back in. They double teamed Vikingo, but Vikingo came back with a Negro-assisted hurricanrana on Cartwheel. Negro grabbed Vikingo and bit his foot, but Vikingo was able to fend him off and tag in Sagrada. Sagrada went off the second rope with a crossbody, but Cartwheel broke pu the pin with something like a Twisted Bliss.

Sagrada then hoisted Cartwheel up in a modified suplex and hit him with a brain buster. Sagrada tried to tag in Adelicious, but with Shani off being tended to by Medical the tag transferred to Vikingo who hit Cartwheel with a Crucifix Driver. Everyone ended up on the outside where Adelicious and then Vikingo dove onto the field.

In the ring, Vikingo hit a shooting star press on Negro and got the win for his team.

Fatal Four-way Tag Team Elimination Match
LWO (Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde) vs. Tokyo Bad Boys (Kento & Nobu San) vs. Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) vs. Los Americanos (Rayo & Bravo Americano)

AAA officials booked this elimination-style showcase match to clear the traffic in the tag division and establish who could be next in line to face the War Raiders.

Axiom and Kento began the match trading chops. Kento whipped Axion into the corner where he knocked Wilde off the apron. Del Toro tagged in and Axiom hit him with a back elbow. Del Toro responsed with a back breaker and that brought in Bravo. Bravo landed an atomic drop and threw big right hands at Del Toro.

Fraxiom and Los Americanos had a brief standoff before a brawl broke out. When the dust settled, it was Wilde and Bravo in the corner. Del Toro tagged in for a kick and then chopped Bravo against the ropes. Bravo came back and went for a dive, but Wilde cut him off and hung him up in a tarantula until Fraxiom double superkicked him. People started flying through the ropes everywhere until Frazer and Del Toro were alone in the ring.

Del Toro hit a bottom rope moonsault for two before interrupting Wilde tending to his hair with a tag. Wilde hit a facebuster on Frazer, but walked into a superkick in return. Frazer got stuck in the tree of woe and Del Toro went coast to coast with a dropkick. He went for a cover, but Axiom broke it up.

Wilde went to spray Frazer with the hair spray, but caught Del Toro by mistake. That let Axiom fly from up top and get a pin to eliminate the LWO, who argued up the ramp.

First Elimination: LWO via Pinfall.

Axiom and Rayo resumed the match and blind tags were made to allow Frazer to hit a double dropkick. Bravo ate a dropkick off the ropes and Takuma tagged in to hit him with a guillotine leg drop. Kento came in with a splash and got a two count. The Bad Boys double teamed Frazer and Takuma took out the crowd on the outside while Kento got a two count on Frazer.

Takuma went for a shooting star press, but Frazer got the knees up and made the closest available tag to Bravo. Bravo sent Kento around with an airplane spin while Takuma was on his shoulders. Takuma fought off and kicked Bravo in the face. Bravo grabbed Takuma and Frazer grabbed Kento. Bravo and Axiom hit splashes from the ringposts and a pin was made to eliminate the Tokyo Bad Boys.

Second Elimination: Tokyo Bad Boys via Pinfall.

Frazer and Rayo slugged it out until Frazer hit him with an insiguri. He landed a running shooting star press, but Bravo countered with a forearm to the face for a two count. Frazer hit a superplex on Rayo, but he seemed to bear the brunt of it and couldn’t make a cover.

Bravo and Axiom tagged in and Axiom hit BRavo with a hurricanrana. Bravo came back with a a sit out powerbomb, but Frazer broke up the cover. Rayo got sent to the outside and so did Frazer as Bravo and Axiom traded punches in the ring. In the ring, Axiom landed a massive Eddie Guerrero-inspired DDT for a two count.

Frazer and Bravo came in and Rayo grabbed hin. Bravo went up top, but Axiom knocked him off the post. A misfire by Fraxiom led to Frazer getting double teamed. Bravo hit a super hurricanrana and Rayo splashed Frazer from up top. The ref counted 1, 2 and Frazer kicked out!

Frazer spiked Rayo with a DDT and looked for a tag, but Axiom was still out. Bravo went up top and Frazer kicked him, bringing Axiom back into the fray for a Spanish fly. Frazer hit a Fenix Splash, but Rayo was there to break up the cover. Axiom went for a superkick, but Bravo cut him off. Frazer tried to help but caught a diving headbutt from Bravo. Rayo made the cover and Los Americanos won the match.

Winner: Los Americanos via Pinfall.

On the way back from break, it was announced that Marisela Pena, the president of AAA, will be inducted into the AAA Hall of Fame in October.

AAA Reina de Reinas Championship #1 Contender’s Four-way Match
Roxanne Perez vs. Faby Apache vs. Nattie vs. La Hiedra

Cross-promotional stars Nattie and Roxanne Perez will look to overcome AAA mainstays Faby Apache and La Hiedra. Whoever wins the match will earn at shot at the Reina de Reinas Championship and whoever holds that belt come Worlds Collide. Current Reina de Reinas Champion Flammer came to ringside to watch the match and this is Apache’s 21st appearance at Triplemania.

The bell rang and several quick rollups were tried, but non succeded. Perez was sent to the outside and then Hiedra sent Nattie out as well. Apache took down Hiedra with a headscissor and an axe kick. She went off the ropes, but Perez grabed her ankle. She dragged Apache to the ouside and ran her into the steel steps.

Perez jumped back into the ring and chop blocked Hiedra. Natti then grabbed Perez and threw her into the steps. Nattie then got into the ring and traded shots with Hiedra. Nattie went for a leg swwep, but Perez got in the middle. Nattie and Perez held Hiedra and Apache dropkicked her. Apache then put Perez in a surfboard and Nattie mirrored that with one on Hiedra.

After that broke, Nattie and Apache went at it with strikes until Apache nailed her with a backbreaker. Nattie fought back, stacking Hiedra and Apache in the corner before dropping Perez on her tailbone. Hiedra sent Perez and Nattie out opening herself up to an arm back from Apache.

Natte=ie grabbed her legs and put Hiedra in a crab at the same time while Perez grabbed a chinlock on Nattie from behind. No one tapped and Apache put an inverted figure four on Perez. Perez escaped and got Apache in a crossface. Aparche stood up out of it and Perez tried to bridge a pin, but Hiedra broke it up with a senton.

She flapjacked Perez and then Nattie came in just in time to eat a stunner from Hiedra. Nattie shook it off and went for a sharpshooter, but Pereze got involved and so Nattie turned her sharpshooter on her until Apache broke it up. Apache then dove onto Nattie on the outside and then Hiedra threw Apache into the barricade.

Hiedra scrambled back into the ring and hit a michinoku driver on Perez. Perez got Hiedra to her feet and Flammer came in to hit Perez with the title belt. Perez dodged it and Flammer narrowly missed Hiedra. The confusion allowed Perez to hit Pop Rocks and get the victory to book her ticket for Worlds Collide.

Winner: Roxanne Perez via Pinfall.

Backstage: Rey Mysterio, El Grande Americano

Back from break, Rey Mysterio sat down with El Grande Americano in the back. Americano thanked Rey for everything he’s done and said that he hopes that Omos won’t be able to come back to AAA. He promised to have Rey’s back through what ever happened. Rey then reminisced about being at the first Triplemania and how special the event is to him. He said that he has the heart Omos does not and he will slay a giant tonight.

AAA Latin American Championship Three-way Match
Mr. Iguana vs. Laredo Kid vs. La Parka (c)

Last week, Mr. Iguana approached GM Rey Mysterio to request a title match. Mysterio countered by proposing this triple threat featuring Laredo Kid and Iguana’s close friend and defending champion La Parka, who immediately told Iguana “we need to talk.” So they may hae been arranging strategy or breaking up. Only time will tell. Either way, this is the match I’ve personally been looking forward to the most on Night 1.

The match started with all three working their way around the ring until Laredo was sent out and La Parka and Iguana faced off one-on-one. Iguana hit an inguanarana, but La Parka bounced back. Laredo then came back and shoved Iguana into La Parka. Laredo and La Parka started slugging it out until Laredo whipped La Parka into the corner for a high knee.

Laredo hit a pair of second-rope moonsaults for a two count and then Iguana dropkicked him to the outside. Iguana then hit Laredo with a headscissor on the outside and he and La Parka teamed up to slam him. La Parka then hit a moonsault on both from the ringpost to the floor.

Back in the ring, La Parka hit a rolling cutter on Laredo followed by a backbreaker. Iguana flew in from the ringpost with a crossbody on La Parka, followed by a crucifix driver but Iguana broke up the pin. Laredo turned his attention to Iguana and sent him off the ropes, but Iguana came back with a diving headbutt followed by a shining wizard.

Iguana went off the ropes again, but Laredo dodged him and sent him to the outside for a suicida. Laredo then tripped up La Parka on the apron and sent him to the barricade with Iguana. Laredo went up top and hit a dive on both from the ringpost.

Laredo threw Iguana back into the ring and nailed him with a 450, but Iguana kicked out at two. La Parka came back in with a backstabber on Laredo, but couldn’t get the three. La Parka dropkicked Laredo in the face and set him up in the corner for chops. Laredo tried to reverse it, but La Parka threw him into the corner then dove on him when Laredo went to the outside.

Iguana grabbed an arm bar on La Parka, but La Parka powered out of hit and put him in the corner. Laredo was back and dumped La Parka to the outside before splashing Iguana in the corner. He set Iguana up on the turnbuckle, but La Parka scrambled up and hit a double Super Spanish Fly from the turnbuckle on both!

La Parka put Laredo on his shoulders, but Laredo hit a poisonrana. La Parka responded with a crucifix driver for a two count. La Parka rolled to the outside as Iguana flew in with a diving headbutt from the ringpost. He then hit a Get Green slam, but La Parka broke up the cover.

La Parka and Iguana got into a shoving match and Laredo tried to roll up Iguana. Laredo put Iguana on his shoulders and La Parka flew in from the ringpost with a Doomsday Device. He then hit a Bonebreaker on Laredo and got the pin to retain the AAA Latin American Championship.

Winner: La Parka via Pinfall to retain the AAA Latin American Championship.

AAA World Trios Championship
Perros del Mal (Daga, Angel, & Berto) vs. Psycho Circus (Dave the Clown, Murder Clown, & Psycho Clown) (c)

Reigning champions Los Psycho Circus have held absolute domination over the trios division for nearly 663 days without a defeat. The newly reformed Los Perros del Mal made a statement by launching a series of brutal attacks, but have suffered the loss of a member (Bronco Nima) and a trios loss at Ola de Calor, so they need a win to get back on track. GM Rey Mysterio sanctioned a title clash to prove which legendary trio truly dominates AAA. Panic Clown wasn’t medically cleared for this match, so Psycho Clown has stepped in for him.

Psycho started off the match, but Perros Del Mal had all their members come in to take out Murder and Dave before triple teaming Psycho. Berto stayed in and Psycho hit him with a power slam. Psycho taggedin Murder who tagged in Dave and they returned the triple team. Dave went for the cover, but Berto kicked out.

Dave flipped Berto around with a headscissor, but then Daga grabbed Dave’s ankle and dragged him to the outside for a beat down. Daga threw Dave back in and Dave fought back with some open handed chops. Dage hit him with a dropkick and dragged him to the Perros corner where Angel smashed his leg against the ringpost.

Angel ran over and removed Murder and Psycho from the corner before dropkicking Dave. Angle set Dave into a tree of woe and Los Perros traded quick tags to beat him up. Dave managed to fight off Berto and crawled to the corner, but Berto cut him off from making a tag. Dave managed to catch Berto with a powerbomb and got the tag to Murder.

Murder cleared the ring of Los Perros members, including using Angel as a weapon against Daga. He then stacked Daga and Angel on his back and hit a double samoan drop. Psycho came in to clothesline Berto and tear off his face (it’s a thing he does). Murder then climbed up and dove from the ringpost onto all three Perros members on the outside.

Suddenly, El Carnicero arrived and took out Dave. Psycho bailed from the match to chase Carcinero out through the crowd (they will fight Sunday in a Street Fight) leaving Dave and Murder to fend for themselves against Perros Del Mal.

Daga managed to throw Murder with a German suplex, but Murder got out of it. Daga tried to knock him back down, but Murder powered up and clotheslined Daga before throwing him into the corner. He set Daga up on the turnbuckle and hit a ring-shaking superplex. Murder made the cover, but Berto broke it up at two.

Dave came in clotheslined Berto, but then Petrovic got up on the apron to cause a distraction. Berto sent Dave to the outside where he ran him through the barricade. In the ring, Murder lifted Daga in a military press, but Daga bit him. Murder put Daga on the turnbuckle again but when he went up Angel grabbed him in a powerbomb. Daga followed with a double stomp from the top turnbuckle and 1-2-3 Los Perros Del Mal are the new AAA Trios Champions.

Winner: Perros del Mal via Pinfall to become the new AAA World Trios Champions.

Omos vs. Rey Mysterio

AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio and Omos got into it after the giant physically attacked both Rey and Galeno, leading to Rey suspending him indefinitely. At Ola de Calor Omos appeared in the audience with a ticket and Dominik Mysterio threatened to pull out of his title match unless Omos’s suspension was lifted. Seizing control of the situation, Rey Mysterio attacked Omos with a microphone and booked this match where an Omos win reinstates Omos to AAA, but a loss bans him from the promotion permanently.

Rey and Omos went face-to-navel as the bell rang, working the tension of the match. Rey, in his classic purple gear, used his athleticism to avoid getting caught by Omos. He dodged and weaved around the giant’s reach and kicked him in the knee. Omos shoved Rey, but he came right back up and caught a punch from the giant.

Rey staggered back to his feet and Omos crushed him against the ropes with a big leg. Omos then dumped Rey on his head and the ref told him to back it off. Rey rolled to the outside and invited Omos to join him. Omos did and Rey scrambled back and hit him with a couple of baseball slides.

Rey then dove over the top rope, but Omos caught him in mid air and dumped him on the barricade after a couple of knees to the gut. Dominik cheered and high-fived Omos before Omos picked up Rey and threw him back in the ring, over the top rope from the floor, right in front of Rey’s wife.

Americano called out encouragement to Rey, but Omos splashed him in the corner and absolutely crushed him. Omos lined up Rey in the corner, but Rey dodged the charge and climbed up for some punches. Omos countered with a bear hug forcing Rey to resot to biting Omos.

Omos slammed him and dropped an elbow, but went for the lazy cover and Rey kicked out. Omos whipped Rey into the corners before going back to the bear hug. Rey scrambled around back and hit Omos’ knee with a dropkick. He threw himself at Omos again and again until Omos fell against the ropes, wrapping his arms up in them.

Rey took advantage and threw everything he could at him until Dominick pulled him out of the ring. Dom went for a chair, but Americano made the save and speared him over the announce table. Omos got free and palmed Rey’s head. Omos reeled back and took out the ref accidentally.

Rey hit Omos with a chair and then climbed up for a hurricanrana. Rey 619’ed him in the gut and then the back as the ref got back into it. Rey chop blocked Omos off his feet and sent him to the ropes for a 619 to the face. Rey went up for a splash and connected perfectly, getting a two count.

Americano and Dom continued brawling art ringside with Dom laying him out with a chair. Rey poked Omos in the eye and ran at him, but Omos threw a big boot to stop his momentum. Omos picked Rey up for a massive chokeslam and pinned him to earn his reinstatement.

Winner: Omos via Pinfall.

After the match, Omos continued dropping elbows on Rey. Americano was down on the outside and Dom and Dorian laughed as Rey writhed in the ring. Dom hit Americano one more time with the chair and the EMTs came to the ring with a backboard to collect Rey. Omos stomped back to the ring and cleared the announce table. He picked up Rey and ripped off his neck brace before chokeslamming him, back board and all, through the announce table! Even Dorian and Dom looked like they might have seen someone cross the line, but Omos remained pleased as the show came to a close.
