Fred Ottman Hospitalized For Undisclosed Medical Issue

WWE Hall of Famer Typhoon, real name Fred Ottman, was hospitalized earlier today due to an undisclosed medical issue.

Book Pro Wrestlers’ Steve Stasiak stated on Facebook that Ottman had contacted him about his medical situation and because of his current hospitalization, he will be unable to make his upcoming scheduled bookings.

“Fred Ottman has been admitted to the hospital tonight after being taken to the emergency room.

Just minutes ago, Fred shared the message you’re reading here from the hospital along with a personal message to his friends, fans and the wrestling community.

Fred explained that because of the situation, he will be unable to make an upcoming scheduled appearance. He apologized to everyone who was expecting to see him and said he’ll speak with the promoters who was bringing him in, once he knows more from the doctors.

Most importantly, Fred wanted everyone to hear directly from him tonight.

In his own words:

“Unfortunately, everybody, due to things beyond my control, I was put into the hospital here, and this evening I got admitted after I was taken to the emergency room.

“But I will not be able to be there, guys. I want to apologize, and I’ll get together with the promoters that was bringing me in after I see what’s going on here with the doctors.

“But I love you all. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers, and hopefully I’ll be seeing you soon. Bye.”

For generations of wrestling fans, Fred has given us plenty of reasons to smile — whether you knew him as Tugboat, Typhoon, or simply Fred Ottman.

Ottman was hospitalized earlier this year due to his gallbladder had exploded inside of him requiring emergency treatment and surgery.
