IYO SKY Comments on Her In-Ring Wrestling Career Future & Being Grateful Fans Call Her The Best In The World

A recent episode of The Ringer’s The Masked Man Show podcast featured IYO SKY as the guest. One of the topic discussed included SKY’s thoughts about Rey Mysterio being her favorite wrestler of all time and and if she would still be wrestling at 50 years old like Mysterio.

“I hope that my answer is no [laughs]. My style is very different. I cannot imagine putting a trash can on my head and jumping from the cage at 50 years old.”

SKY also gave her thoughts about if that spot hurts to do.

“Yes, yes [laughs]. Hurts, but scary. Much scarier because you’re completely blind and it’s so dark. I cannot see anything and I have to jump off a high cage. It’s more scary than hurts, but it hurts too.” 

SKY also gave her thoughts about if she considers herself the best wrestler in the world and her being grateful when fans call her that.

“Yeah, I really hope so. I’m doing my best, but I cannot say I am the best. If you guys are saying that, I’m so grateful. I will keep doing what I’m doing. I’m trying to do my best and show my best as much as possible. My ability or popularity when you watch is because I’m enjoying wrestling so much.”

John Cena Comments on His Praise of Nattie and TJ Wilson & Their The Dungeon 2.0 Wrestling School

Love Wrestling held a recent interview with John Cena at a recent Edmonton Fan Expo 2026 event in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. One of the topics discussed included Cena’s thoughts about his praise of Nattie, TJ Wilson, and their The Dungeon 2.0 wrestling school

“TJ and Nattie are awesome. They’re awesome folks. They move through space with kindness. TJ’s like a ‘kind curmudgeon’. He’s got a hidden sarcasm to him, but he wants to bring the best out of everybody. They wouldn’t be doing what they’re doing – keep in mind, there’s no fees at the Dungeon. It’s invite only. You don’t pay, and they make you better. That sort of business model resonates with me, where they’re losing money just to give some wisdom. I really admire that, because some of the early mentors of my life had the same sort of model. They just bet on folks they believed in. I think that speaks volumes about them as people, to be able to invest their own money with no return on investment rather than just the joy they get from watching people passionate about the business.”

Cena also gave his thoughts about what he had taught the trainees when he visited Nattie and Wilson’s wrestling school.

“What did I teach? I’m retired, and I’m retired for a reason. I’m scuffed up. If I had any life left, I wouldn’t be teaching in a ring. I’d be trying to fall down in front of an audience, because that’s what I love the most. I tend to watch a lot, and then give active feedback. The thing that I see the most, and the thing I saw at the Dungeon, it’s a universal truth – the little things. People don’t stress the little things. The little things can make what we do beautiful.

I think CM Punk is doing some of his best work with the little things. I think Sami Zayn, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes – Randy is the king of the little things. A performer like Shawn Michaels is the king of the little things. They make the most out of the smallest stuff, and it makes you come to the edge of your seat. It makes you stand up, and it makes you never sit down again. I was guilty of this myself: as a young performer, you just want to show what you can do. All these kids are trying to get better, just trying to show that they can do stunts, and that they’re athletes. You need to have the little things. The little things make the magic, and that’s what I saw was absent. That’s common in a lot of schools.”

Drake Maverick Clarifies His WWE Status Following His Appearances For PROGRESS Wrestling

As noted before, Rockstar Spud, also known as Drake Maverick in WWE, made his return to the indies earlier this month for PROGRESS Wrestling’s The Odyssey Tour 2026 events in England.

In a recent response to a fan on Twitter, Maverick clarified his current status with WWE stating that he is still working as a writer and producer in the company.

This fan stated “Is Spud still with WWE? He’s all over the place at the minute. I assume it has to be by choice he’s not on RAW, because I dont see how you have someone like him around and he’s not on TV. One of those guys who makes everyone and everything better in his segment.” Maverick responded stating:

“Hello, still working at WWE as a writer/producer. At work today in fact. Appreciate your very kind words. I get to do exactly that, but do so from the other side of the camera currently.”
