Video: Bandido, Swerve Strickland

We opened with footage from last night’s Fright Night Dynamite that saw ROH Men’s World Champion Bandido brutalized by Swerve Strickland in an attempt to goad Hangman Adam Page into making the AEW Trios’ Championship Match at Full Gear a Texas Death Match. Strickland said he wasn’t going to ask again after leaving Bandido a bloodied mess.

Brandon Cutler vs. Soleil

The in-ring action kicked off with a Code of Honor handshake and a collar-and-elbow tie-up. Arm drag by Cutler was followed by the senton as he had the advantage on Soleil early on. Soleil ducked under a Cutler leapfrog as he landed on his feet following a Cutler hurricanrana. Spinning tornillio by Soleil on Cutler. Leg drop by Soleil, but he missed on the body splash. On the top rope, Cutler took down Soleil with a springboard dropkick.

Forearm by Cutler left Soleil rattled as he then applied a sleeper on his foe. Soleil got out of it and connected with a pumphandle bottom slam on Cutler. Both men got to their feet and traded strikes. Soleil hit a fierce combo as he acrobatically avoided a strike from Cutler. From the top rope, Soleil descended and crushed Cutler with the crossbody for the near-fall. The two exchanged strikes as neither got the clear advantage. Slide by Soleil but he was caught by a Cutler gutwrench powerbomb. Shining Wizard by Cutler failed to get the three.

Soleil dodged Cutler’s clothesline with Super Sentai-like prowess and he connected with the cutter on Cutler for the three.

Winner: Soleil via Pinfall.

Backstage, the “Computerized” Kingdom were chatting with the Grizzled Young Veterans extolling the alleged virtues of their AI assistant, Sparta. Zack Gibson told Matt Taven to not let them down when they team up later tonight.

“Main Man” Oro vs. Scorpio Sky

Scorpio and Oro sized one another up as we got the test of strength between the two as the former hit an armdrag on the latter. Oro applied a hammerlock on Scorpio as he escaped a hold from his foe with an armdrag and a dropkick. Respectful battle here so far as Scorpio kicked Oro in the midsection. Unique drop toehold by Scorpio as Oro slapped away the handshake and things began to intensify. TKO countered by Oro as he intercepted Scorpio on the top rope with a wall-walk moonsault kick to the veteran. Back elbow strike by Oro only got a two.

Knife-edge chop by Oro put Scorpio to the ground, as did the snap suplex. Knee drop hit from Oro hit Scorpio right on the button. Big lariat from Oro got the near-fall. Scorpio found himself trapped in a most aggressive chinlock by Oro, but he fought out of it with body shots. Scorpio hit a series of back elbows, a sweeping kick, and the double stomp. Rolling heel kick by Oro, but that led to him getting hit with Scorpio’s Sky-High spnebuster for the two-count. TKO attempt again, but Oro countered it and kicked Scorpio in the shin. Fish-hook neckbreaker from Oro only got another two-count.

The two exchanged hard-hitting strikes as Scorpio began to fight back with battering fists to the face. Oro met that with a kick, but found his move blocked by Scorpio. Back body drop from Scorpio was then followed by the knee to the face to send his foe outside. Oro swept at Scorpio on the apron as he connected with the springboard tornillo to the outside. Back in the ring, Oro hit the running spinning heel kick, followed by a clothesline to the back of Scorpio’s head. One, two….. NO! As the action spilled back out to the ring, the apron was used as a weapon by both men, who then exchanged clubbing blows. Scorpio was speared by Oro into the steel steps, but the latter seemed to get the worse of it as his head collided with the steps. Both men beat out the 20-count and as soon as they got into the ring, Scorpio struck with the TKO for the win.

Winner: Scorpio Sky via Pinfall.

Video: Athena, Hyan

We got a recap of the situation between Athena, Hyan, and Maya World.

Cassie Lee vs. Lacey Lane

Cassie aggressively forced Lacey to shake her hand as we got underway. Cassie dodged a clothesline from Lacey and mocked her with a taunt. Waistlock takeover by Lacey as she countered Cassie’s fakeout with a punch to the face. Back shot by Cassie allowed her to take advantage. Throw to the turnbuckle by Cassie, but she took too long with the taunt. Double-foot kick by Lacey, but she struck out on the running kick. Roll-up pin by Lacey got a two, but she made no mistake on the dropkick.

Jessie McKay got in the way to protect Cassie from Lacey, but that didn’t seem to work, as she hit a bottom-rope springboard enzuigiri on Cassie. Apron-borne Scorpion kick by Cassie knocked down Lacey. Blow to the back by Cassie was then followed by the shin press to the back of Lacey. Huge headbutt from Cassie, but she struck out with the running kick like she was facing Ginny Baker at the plate. Cassie, however, still had the advantage on Lacey in the corner. Lacey was planted on the top rope, but she avoided calamity. Powerbomb attempt was snuffed out. Running kick by Cassie was countered into an impressive pin attempt by Lacey for the three to do my home country of the Philippines proud.

Winner: Lacey Lane via Pinfall.

Six-Man Tag Team Match
Serpentico & Los Colons (Eddie & Orlando Colon) vs. Chad Skywalker, Dante Casanova, & Saieve Al Sabah

The opposing team got the jump on Los Colons & Serpentico early. Serpentico was being isolated by Casanova, Skywalker, and Saeed, who used quick tags to their advantage. Serpentico somehow got out of his fate as he hit a rana on Saeed. Eddie tagged in and hit the dropkick on his foe for the two-count. Saeed fought back, but he was grazed by a running attack from Eddie as a splash from Orlando left him rattled. Orlando up top, but the Dante distraction allowed Saeed to trip him up. Big suplex from Saeed as Dante tagged in and powerslammed Orlando. Tag to Skywalker, who lived up to his name with a Dante-assisted splash on Orlando for the two-count. Orlando got out of it with a big boot, but he got crushed with a Skywalker lariat. Dressed for apparent success, Skywalker double-stomped on Orlando as he appplied the chinlock. Orlando escaped but got rolled up for the near-fall. Orlando crushed Skywalker with the dropkick to create some needed separation. Big hot tag to Eddie.

Eddie unleashed a southpaw combo on Saeed as he hit a series of dropkicks. Inverted lungblower, but Dante broke up the count. Serpentico got him with a springboard DDT, but Skywalker took him out with the rolling senton. Flatliner by Eddie as Orlando got Saeed with the Backstabber. Serpentico didn’t need a plane to take flight on the frog splash for the victory.

Winner: Serpentico & Los Colons via Pinfall.

“Blackheart” Lio Rush vs. Charles Crowley

It was a battle between the Blackheart Circus allies, as this was the return of Lio Rush to Ring of Honor, appearing for the first time since losing the ROH Men’s Television Championship at Death Before Dishonor.

Crowley gestured at Lio as he asked the fans if they wanted to see some magic. Crowley took his hat and showed us his idea of magic, which unfortunately didn’t involve any scrib doon. He punched Lio in the face for his trick as Lio began to evade his opponent quickly. Crowley said he was a nice guy and offered a handshake as the fans chanted “he’s a trickster”. Lio used his Gollum-like speed to elude Crowley and hit the Thesz Press. Cartwheel kick by Rush led to the Predator-like suicide dive to the outside. Back inside the ring, Crowley escaped a back suplex attempt from Lio, and found himself choked out. Crowley pulled out something from his pants, but it was a feint for a big knee strike on Lio for the near-fall.

Everyone’s favorite Galactic Racer had the advantage on Lio with a foot choke, followed by the powerful slam. Off the top rope, Crowley hit the elbow on Lio for another near-fall. Crowley hit Lio with the elbow as he showed off his dance moves. That gave Lio time to bite his fingers, as he followed it with a rana from the springboard. Low kick by Lio only got a two-count. Lio looked for a cutter, but Crowley countered it. Lio bounce back and leapt right into a big slam from Crowley for the near-fall. Crowley hoisted Lio up for an attempted Hungarian backbreaker, but he couldn’t connect with it. Slithering DDT led to the basement stunner and the cravate lock for the tapout win.

Winner: “Blackheart” Lio Rush via Submission.

Eight-Man Tag Team Match
Bustah The Brain (Alec Price & Jordan Oliver) & Top Flight (Darius & Dante Martin) vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) & The Kingdom (Mike Bennett & Matt Taven)

The two teams faced as the heels attacked their foes from behind to get this match started. Taven asked the GYV to take stereo dives with the advice of Sparta. Bennett used his phone’s camera flash to blind Price to get the advantage. The Kingdom tried for the Proton pack, but Oliver made the save as he and Price showed some nice double team prowess. The GYV and Top Flight brawled inside the ring, with Dante hitting the bottom-rope springboard dropkick on Gibson. Dante and Darius showed great chemistry on the DDT on Gibson for the near-fall. Taven and Bennett argued as the scarf was thrown in the ring, but it allowed Gibson to take advantage of a distraction. GYV left Dante rattled with the double team attack.

Taven tagged in as he and Bennett left Dante rattled. Drake with the tag and the lariat on Dante got a two-count. Bennett got his phone out, but it allowed Dante to hit the snap suplex on Drake. Double tag to Price and Oliver as the GYV also got the double tag. Bustah and the Brain were in their element with Price hitting a supersonic clothesline on Gibson. Big splash, but Gibson kicked out at two. Oliver tagged in with things breaking down at a rapid pace. Taven taken for the ride with a sidewalk slam. Oliver’s tag attempt was blocked, but he did get Darius into the match. Flipping strike to Drake as Darius held his own against both GYV members. Spanish Fly by Darius on Gibson. Drake helped his partner out, but he and Gibson got taken out with the dive from Dante. The Kingdom took out Dante, but Alec Price made it a Blockbuster night at the expense of Bennett and Taven.

With everyone inside the ring, we got more chaos, with the GYV taking advantage. They huddled with the Kingdom and Sparta, but that left them open to dives from Bustah and the Brain because their “Free Trial” had expired. The Martins took over with the double DDT on Gibson, and this match is over.

Winner: Bustah & The Brain & Top Flight via Pinfall.
