Paige Reveals Triple H Approached Her At Last Minute To Replace Original Challenger For NXT Women’s Title Match at 11/4 WWE NXT Show

As noted before, Wednesday’s WWE NXT show at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida featured Paige making a surprise return appearance to the NXT brand. Paige was revealed to be the mystery opponent for Kelani Jordan’s NXT Women’s Championship match at the show, which was won by Jordan.

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured Paige as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Paige revealing that she was not the originally planned opponent for Jordan’s title match on the show and instead was a last minute replacement.

“I got called last minute. It wasn’t actually supposed to be me. Triple H pulled me aside in Brooklyn at the double taping and said, ‘Do you mind going down to NXT?’ I was like, ‘Oh sh*t. Yeah, definitely.’ It didn’t give me much time to prepare. Maybe if I prepared a little bit more, I would’ve won. It is what it is. I know what to do next time if I get a little bit of time.”
