Original plans called for the Big Show vs. Edge match to main event for the 500th episode of SmackDown!, but Vince McMahon pulled it from the show and put it on Monday’s RAW instead.
McMahon then had a blow up because head SmackDown! writer Michael Hayes wanted to make the 500th SmackDown! a loaded show, but told him there are more important things going on right now than the 500th episode of SmackDown!.
Hayes wanted to do a major Raw vs. SmackDown! interbrand match on the 500th episode of SmackDown, but McMahon nixed it as well.
