As expected, the backstage reaction to the 25-Diva Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXV was largely negative, especially among those involved in the match. Just about everyone was upset with the quality of the bout afterwards, realizing they weren’t given much time to make the match stand out and that it was largely a platform for Santino Marella’s comedy act.
After it was announced that Melina was moving to SmackDown, Raw went to a commercial and fellow Divas Mickie James and Kelly Kelly started hugging her goodbye. The WWE Women’s Champion got emotional and started crying during this. Howard Finkel also noted last night in his live Raw blog that the Bella Twins comforted her backstage.
