As we previously noted here on the website, WWE has gone “on the warpath” against accounts on Twitter which impersonate and parody their company and employees, according to number of sources within the company.
Since WWE promotes Twitter so much, they don’t want there to be any confusion with their intellectual property. They also do not want fans to be tricked by any fraudulent accounts purported to be endorsed by WWE or a company employee. Furthermore, WWE is generating revenue through their partnership with Twitter, which they do no want compromised.
Many of these accounts have been suspended within the past few days. Two popular accounts, however, remain active: twitter.com/DumbKellyKelly and twitter.com/crankyvince. The accounts parodying Vince McMahon has caused great concern for company officials.
