WWE PPVs Headed To The Network, RAW Rating Update

— As of this week, WWE is planning to keep the normal 2012 pay-per-view schedule with the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 28 but from April through December, the plan is for only SummerSlam and Survivor Series to be national pay-per-views – the rest are set to air on the WWE Network as specials. Those also may remain on pay-per-view based on the idea that much of the country won’t be able to access the Network.

— WWE referee Justin King is having an undisclosed surgery in the coming weeks and is expected to be out of action for several months. The surgery is reportedly not related to any injury he has suffered on the job.

— For Monday night cable TV, WWE RAW was ranked #6 for viewers overall, #2 in the males 18-34 demo, and #3 for males 18-49. The final ESPN Monday Night Football game of the season controlled the night, but RAW was behind other shows on TNT and the History Channel as well. For the key demographics, RAW was a mixed bag. For males 12-17, Raw was down by four-tenths of a ratings point, which is the lowest rating since September. For adult males, it was a slight increase compared to last week. However, RAW was down 5% in ratings compared to last year’s post-Christmas episode. Comparing key male demographics, they were about even, and for teen males, RAW was down 36% and by one rating point.
