The Rock recently spoke to the Miami Herald about coming home to Miami for WrestleManioa, his movie career and more. Check out the highlights:
On coming to Miami for WrestleMania: “It’s the greatest scenario for me, a son of South Florida, to be down here and perform in front of my family, my friends, and my South Florida family. The goal is to create the biggest match of all time.”
On the University of Miami: “UM defined me in so many ways. When you’re in the grind, you don’t recognize the value. Only after I left did I realize that I carried the discipline I learned there with me into the WWE, into filmmaking. I was able to carry that discipline with me throughout life.”
On returning to WWE: “Going back to WWE is just another platform where I’m able to entertain. When I got into acting, I just didn’t want to do action movies. I wanted to do more. Comedy, drama, families. Wanted to be diverse. Wanted to reflect who I am as a man.”
On his next film as bodybuilder-turned-murderer Adrian Doorbal in Michael Bay’s Pain & Gain: “My goal has always been to have a diverse career. When I got into acting, I just didn’t want to do action movies. I wanted to do more. Comedy, drama, family films. I wanted to reflect who I am as a man.”
