— In an update to our earlier report, Kevin Steen’s show-closing assault on two fans at ROH Boiling Point is reportedly a work. ROH did one hell of a job working the fans (and us!) as they had the two guys in the crowd talking and chanting with regular fans from the beginning of the show to the end. The plan came from Hunter Jonhnston and was intended to get legit heat on Kevin Steen after his heel turn at “Best in the World” in New York City failed. Both of the “fans” were told to sell the attack as a fan would, as opposed to a wrestler, and the second fan–who wrestles as “Mighty Mini” Mark Bourne in the Northeast indies, was hit full-force in the face after he turned the wrong way.
Both men on the receiving end of the attack were students of Bob Evans. Job well done by ROH as they worked even the most loyal & diehard fans of the company. That’s hard to do with the company having such loyal and “smart” fans.
