Following Jerry Lawler’s heart attack, the backstage scene at Monday Night RAW was chaotic to say the least. Once it was obvious that Lawler was suffering a major emergency, many people began praying and nobody was paying attention to the show. Numerous WWE talents were crying and were being rushed to separate areas of the building, away from where Jerry Lawler was being taken into an ambulance. EMT’s were performing CPR and they didn’t want their talents to see that.
Word is that the people backstage credit the EMT’s for saving Lawler’s life. While unfortunate, many are thankful that the heart attack happened at RAW and not in a hotel or at an independent show. WWE doctors and EMT’s arrived on-scene immediately. They’re being billed as true heroes for saving his life.
As previously reported, Lawler wrestled both Friday and Saturday nights in Aruba before flying to Montreal on Monday. There were no signs that Lawler was having any heath issues when he arrived at the show.
There was some concern about blood being cut off to Lawler’s brain and potential brain damage. As noted last night here on the website, Lawler’s skin appeared blue, a result of oxygen deprivation.
Vince McMahon was by Lawler’s side the entire time.
You’re in all of our thoughts and prayers today Jerry. Keep fighting and get well soon bud.
More as we get it.
