— In today’s birthdays, former WWE wrestler Henry O. Godwinn turns 49 years old, former WWE wrestler Ken Dykstra turns 27, and former WWE developmental wrestler Brett DiBiase turns 27.
— As noted earlier here on the website, WWE WrestleMania 29 on April 7th, 2013 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey is officially sold out with a total gate of $11 million. There is a very likely possibility of more seats being opened up closer to the show when production is setup. This is the farthest advance sell out of a WrestleMania event in a few years.
— The official WWE website has published an article recalling “The Funking’ Dojo,” training camps ran by WWE Hall of Famer Dory Funk, Jr. in 1998 and 1998 that produced such Superstars as Edge, Kurt Angle, Christian, Mark Henry and the Hardy Boyz.
Beginning in 1998, following Angle’s jump from amateur wrestling to professional wrestling, Funk was the current TNA Wrestling Superstar’s primary trainer. The WWE Hall of Famer says it was quite easy teaching Angle.
“I told him anything you did in amateur wrestling you can do in professional wrestling, but you’ve got to adapt your style to what we do here at WWE,” Funk said.
