— As expected, last night’s episode of TNA iMPACT! Wrestling dropped in the ratings department as the show drew a 0.86 (0.9) cable rating, with an average of 1.08 million viewers. That is down 20% (final #) and 11% (# of viewers) from last week’s 1.06 (1.1) and 1.20 million viewers. The show took a huge hit from the NBA Finals Game 7, which drew an INSANE 21.56 million viewers for ABC. That is an absolutely ridiculous number and TNA management was very worried that they had to go head-to-head with that game. They hope to bounce back next week with no NHL or NBA playoff competition.
— As previously reported, a fundraising campaign had been set up to raise money for Zema Ion after an emergency appendectomy was required. The campaign, which had been aiming for $30,000, fell well short and ended with $6,648 as the total raised.
Ion still needs another surgery in order to remove a growth on his bladder that was found during the initial surgery. The link to the now-expired campaign is available here if you’re interested in checking for further updates that may be posted there.
