As previously reported, Steve Austin appeared on Ariel Helwani “The MMA Hour” show today. While on the show, Austin discussed several wrestling topics, including the possibility of an in-ring return.
Austin said that he believed an in-ring return might be difficult, noting that it took three years to get the desire to wrestle out of his system to the point of having “pro wrestling withdrawals.” Austin noted a return would require three to four months of training to get his timing and conditioning back to 100% and that he wouldn’t do it in any less of a condition, adding that if he did return it would be a “what’s next?” situation. He mentioned that as a sticking point.
As to Jim Ross, who will be the guest on his next podcast tomorrow, Austin said he spoke with Ross about his departure from WWE. Austin confirmed that we’ve been telling you – Ross was fired and took the high road and was a “class act.” He noted that he is considering adding a third podcast to his weekly slate that may involve him breaking down RAW each week.
In terms of future plans, Austin said he was planning on more reality TV including a possible hunting show on the Outdoor Channel, along with more film work.
