— As noted earlier here on the website, the storyline of Triple H buying Big Show’s house is inspired by the real-life story where CM Punk bought Joey Mercury’s house for him due to the fact that Mercury was having financial issues. That story was recounted on CM Punk’s WWE DVD.
— Also as noted earlier here on the website, due to Michael Hayes’ absence from WWE, word is that Brian “Road Dogg” James has been taking on a bigger role behind the scenes in WWE. James is now working on the live events, which were previously ran by Hayes and Triple H. James has taken on a larger role at both the live and TV events, and has also been working a lot at WWE headquarters as well a attending creative meetings. Many WWE stars like the idea of James being part of the creative process, since he’s been in the business for so long.
— “Hardbody” Calvin Knapp, who worked as a main eventer for the Global Wrestling Federation during the early 1990s, passed away on Sunday night. Knapp was a former bodybuilder who turned to pro wrestling and worked for the ESPN promotion in 1992 and 1993 during which he had a reign as the promotion’s Light Heavyweight champion. Following GWF’s closure he worked indy promotions in Dallas.
No details are yet available about his passing. On behalf of everyone here on the website, our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Mr. Knapp.
