WWE Wellness Policy Profiled, Kimberly Page Turns 41, & More

— BostonHerald.com has a front page article up on the debut of New England Championship Wrestling this Friday on Comcast Sportsnet. NECW promoter and co-owner Sheldon Goldberg had the following to say in the article… “We just want to be your friendly neighborhood wrestling promotion. We’ll approach the TV show like everything has been approached since Day One. We start down that road, and we just keep walking ’til we get there. I’m not kidding myself, it’s not gonna be easy.”

— HREOnline.com has an article up on the WWE Wellness policy, the deaths in wrestling under the age of 45, WWE offering rehab to past employees, and more. Robert Zimmerman, vice president of corporate communications and public relations at WWE offered the following comments for the article…“We don’t know what they took as kids. We don’t know what they’ve done after they’ve left. So the only thing we can do is obviously do what we’re trying to do, which is make them abide by the Talent Wellness Program when they are contracted by us and then offer any kind of rehab assistance after they’ve left.”

— In last week’s birthdays, former WCW valet Kimberly Page turned 41, WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy Hart turned 66, and Rodney of the “Mean Street Posse” turned 39. A number of websites over the years have listed Kimberly’s birth year as 1970, but it’s actually 1969. Kimberly has a legit account on MySpace.com, and she lists herself as 41 years old (previously, 40). She quit acting in 2006 and is now working as marketing executive in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has also since removed her breast implants.
