About 1,000 people attended the funeral of “Dr. Death” Steve Williams in Lakewood on Friday. Plenty of local wrestlers were present, along with Barry Switzer and Stanley Abel, his football and wrestling coaches at Oklahoma. Both spoke at the service, as did Jim Ross, Ted DiBiase, Stan Hansen, Terry Taylor, Jeremy Young and Leon “Vader” White.
Jim White, a star in Memphis in the 70s, has passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was was best known as the first tag team partner of Jerry Lawler, and as a team they had a hot feud with Jackie Fargo and Jerry Jarrett.
According to a Finnish website, former WWF wrestler and Finnish politician Tony “Ludwig Borga” Halme has been found dead in his home. He had just turned 47. At this time no criminal investigation is ongoing, and no cause of death has been determined.
