Stephen Ketcher, a wrestler best known for his lower-card work as Steve Gatorwolf in the 1980s, was arrested today on seven counts of sexual assault on a child and seven accounts of sexual assault. The report from WOKV notes that the charges relate to alleged incidents involving the daughter of a woman that Ketcher knew and that the abuse took place over several months. Ketcher was charged in March and he had gone on the run.
The report notes that authorities began a media campaign in Jacksonville, Florida as they believed that he may be there, where he has connections. Ketcher surrendered to the Clay County Sheriffs Department in in Green Cove Springs, Florida a few hours later.
Ketcher worked for both the WWF and AWA in the mid-’80s, with his best-known match being a team-up with Jay Strongbow in a tag team battle royal in October of 1986. He will be arraigned tomorrow morning.
