WWE announced that David Otunga will not be on Raw for the next six weeks because he has been cast as the lead in an action movie called “Katrina.”
Otunga and Byron Saxton just switched places, and WWE seems to be implying that someone else will replace Otunga as the third man on the Raw announce team, saying “Otunga’s latest film endeavor leaves a temporary vacancy on the Raw commentary team. Who will serve as his replacement?”
SmackDown LIVE’s David Otunga moved to the Raw announce desk in the Superstar Shake-up Monday night — swapping places with Team Red’s Byron Saxton — but the former WWE Tag Team Champion’s debut alongside Michael Cole and Corey Graves will be delayed for six weeks, as he has been cast in the lead role of an action film with the working title “Katrina,” WWE.com has confirmed.
“Katrina” is set in 2005 New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina and stars Otunga as edgy DEA agent James “World” Lawson.
Otunga’s latest film endeavor leaves a temporary vacancy on the Raw commentary team. Who will serve as his stand-in? Stay with WWE.com as more information on the immediate future of the Raw announce team becomes available.
