According to a new article by Forbes, they feel that the WWE has put themselves into a good position to negotiate new television rights fees for their programming following yesterday’s launch of the WWE Network. The article notes that 4 million viewers tuned into RAW this past week and that amount of viewers, if they subscribed to the new network, would be all WWE needed to match their 2012 revenue.
WWE has the live programming and demographics that cable TV is looking for at this time. With the announcement of the network and realization that the company could thrive if they had to pull all shows inclusive to the network; Forbes feels that WWE now has more leverage to get the best deal possible TV rights deals for RAW, SmackDown and the other TV shows.
