According to WWE sources, there are many people within WWE who have seen a “major ascension” from Renee Young in recent months. As noted earlier this week, Young was promoted to a broadcast announcer on WWE Superstars and will also be hosting pre-and-post game shows for PPVs and RAW/SmackDown when they decide to do them.
The belief within WWE is that she will wind up announcing SmackDown at some point in the future and may even be moved to RAW several years down the line.
Regarding the ESPN Network being interested in her services, she’s given the impression that she’s staying with WWE and enjoys working with the company. The fact that WWE is VERY high on her leads many to believe she’ll be staying as they’ll offer her what she wants. She also still has quite a bit of time left on her current WWE contract.
Unlike Todd Grisham and Jonathan Coachman, Young is a “wrestling person deep down” while Coach and Grisham came from other gigs not related to wrestling.
