Dr. Tom Prichard At 2014 Harley Race Wrestling Camp & More

— Harley Race’s World League Wrestling sent out the following today…

Dr. Tom Prichard to join 2014 Harley Race Wrestling Camp

Notable Trainer of current professional wrestling superstars to attend popular wrestling camp

Troy, MO, July 28, 2014: World League Wrestling is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Tom Prichard for the 2014 week-long Harley Race Wrestling Camp. Dates for this year’s camp will be from November 10th through November 14th. Trainers that have a wealth of knowledge pertaining to this industry will be attending this year’s camp to pass along their knowledge and critique camp participants.

Dr. Tom Prichard is regarded as one of the best hands-on trainers for today’s era of up-and-coming wrestling prospects. His reputation is second to none, as he has had his techniques and advice passed on to superstars such as Edge, The Miz, Kurt Angle, The Rock, The Hardy Boyz, Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, and many more. His experience training comes from his long and successful career as a professional wrestler during the 1980’s and 90’s. His singles career and tag-team career has made him what he is today.

After his in-ring career slowed down (but not finished, however), he became trainer of the WWF as officials for the company saw his ability to work with others and teach the craft to make others better. This led to him becoming the head-trainer of WWE’s developmental territory – Deep South Wrestling – which was then later called Florida Championship Wrestling after relocating the company.

After his training-role with WWE came to an end, he has been keeping active in the professional wrestling world by teaching prospects to become better. In 2013, Dr. Tom came to World League Wrestling for 1 day, giving advice and working intensely with the students of that camp. Many students complimented Prichard and his training techniques.

This year, Dr. Tom Prichard will join previously announced “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton on Monday, November 10th, and Tuesday, November 11th. For more information about this year’s camp, please contact us at 573-392-4100, email camp@harleyrace.com, or visit www.harleyrace.com/2014Camp.html. Forms are available to print and submit. Cost for the camp is $500.00. Limited spots are available and more guest trainers will be announced in the forthcoming weeks.

Raschke and Rheingans to enter Greco-Roman Hall of Champions

WATERLOO, Iowa—Two professional wrestling superstars will be recognized by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum for their achievements in Greco-Roman wrestling. Jim Raschke and Brad Rheingans will enter the Alan & Gloria Rice Greco-Roman Hall of Champions.

The Alan & Gloria Rice Greco-Roman Hall of Champions is located inside the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum in Waterloo.

An induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the Kennedy Center on the campus of Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn. This is the fifth induction class.

In addition to their successful careers in the American Wrestling Association (AWA), Raschke and Rheingans were pioneers in Greco-Roman wrestling. Raschke (known by his ring name of Baron Von Raschke) placed third at the 1963 World Championships in the heavyweight division, becoming only the second American wrestler to win a medal in the Greco-Roman Worlds.

Rheingans made two Greco-Roman Olympic teams and wrestled on three World Championship teams during his international career. The highlight of Rheingans’s career came at the 1979 World championships where he placed third at 220 pounds.

“I feel extremely honored to be recognized in this way,” said Raschke. “We didn’t know at the time that we were pioneers, so this honor is something that I never expected. This is very humbling and a big surprise.”

Raschke and Rheingans were also inducted into the George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. Raschke was inducted in 2002 and Rheingans was inducted in 2004.

The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum will also induct Jim Burke (posthumously) and Jim Martinez into the Hall of Champions. Dave Curby will receive the Alan Rice Leadership Award and the Martinez Family will receive the Legacy Award.
