WWE and New Orleans mayor Mitch Landrieu announced that WrestleMania XXX generated more income for a region than any in history, claiming an economic impact of $142.2 million according to an Enigma Research Corporation study. That includes $24.3 million in federal, state and local taxes.
Of the 65,000 fans who attended WrestleMania XXX, nearly 51,000 were tourists from outside of the New Orleans area, while approximately 14,000 were local. The average tourist stayed 3.7 nights in New Orleans.
Those who were in town for WrestleMania XXX were believed to have spent around $10.7 million at local restaurants, which adds up as that would figure in $200 for food over an average of a four-day period, which includes meals and drinks.
