As you likely know, Rusev lost his match to John Cena at Payback after Lana came into the ring when he was shouting in the STF and said he quit. Rusev was speaking in Bulgarian and a Reddit user who claims to speak the language has translated his phrase. If the user’s comments are accurate, it appears that Rusev did say that he gave up:
Ahhh no…ahhh I give up! Next time we will crush you! I give up! Stop! I told you! I’ll crush you Cena! Damn your old mother, Cena! I will crush you! That’s enough, I told you.
Whether WWE will use his translated words in the storyline or not isn’t known; while he did say “I give up” he could easily have just been saying anything to give Lana the storyline excuse to throw in the towel. However, Lana took to Twitter last night to say that she was just translating Rusev’s words, so it’s possible that they could be using his actual words:
I translated what the Super Athlete was saying so the ref could understand. https://t.co/pJ6VSfnNH2

There’s also room for Rusev to say that “I give up” is not the same as “I Quit,” since WWE specifically had the announcing team mention when Cena was out cold that the referee had no control over stopping the match unless the words “I Quit” were uttered.
