Two weeks ago, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver criticized WWE’s relationship with Saudi Arabia and on last night’s episode, Oliver did a follow up segment.
- He showed a clip of the crowd chanting “Undertaker,” then immediately booing when Undertaker mentioned Crown Jewel. Oliver joked that WWE had “turned heel.”
- He showed a clip of Titus O’Neil falling at Greatest Royal Rumble.
- He mentioned reports of John Cena not wanting to work the event because of the PR hit.
- They aired a parody promo video for Crown Jewel.
It honestly wasn’t really anything great, but it did make WWE look pretty bad and is even more bad PR from a mainstream outlet. But of course, it isn’t going to change anything anyway.
