“Road Dogg” Brian James is now working full-time on the NXT brand, according to PWInsider. His exact role hasn’t been confirmed, but he has been working at the WWE Performance Center in some capacity recently.
Road Dogg stepped down as co-head writer of the SmackDown brand last month, a role he had been in since the brand split in 2016. It was reported that he had been growing increasingly frustrated with the constant last-minute changes that were made to SmackDown scripts and storylines by Vince McMahon.
