Viceland’s Dark Side of the Ring Series Update

As noted before, Viceland recently renewed their Dark Side of the Ring documentary series for a second season. Two episodes based on the deaths of Dino Bravo and Chris Benoit are currently planned to be among the ten episodes for the second season.

For the Chris Benoit episode, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the series producers are currently considering reaching out to Sandra Toffoloni (Nancy Benoit’s sister), Chris Jericho (who was friends with Benoit), Chavo Guerrero Jr., Michael Benoit (Chris Benoit’s father), and David Benoit (Chris Benoit’s son from a first marriage) for potential interviews.

The new season will also feature an episode on WWF’s Brawl for All tournament from 1999 and there are currently plans for a potential episode to also be made focusing on Jimmy Snuka.

Another Update on Jeff Jarrett’s On-Going Lawsuit Against Anthem

As noted before, Jeff Jarrett is currently suing Impact Wrestling’s parent company, Anthem Sports & Entertainment, over allegations of trademark infringement and violations of Tennessee state business laws being committed by Anthem. Jarrett was dealt a legal blow last month when the presiding judge in the case dismissed several claims from his original lawsuit.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Jarrett suffered another legal blow to his case on July 22nd when the same presiding judge, Chief Judge Waverly D. Crenshaw, Jr., ruled against his attempt at interlocutory appeal regarding last month’s court decision.

The remainder of Jarrett’s lawsuit against Anthem was not affected and will continue to move forward.
