La Parka (not to be confused with the original La Parka who wrestled in WCW, who now wrestles as LA Park) suffered a serious neck injury, stated to be a neck and cervical fracture, at an event for KAOZ Lucha Libre this past Sunday, according to the Wrestling Observer, Super Luchas, and Lucha Blog.
La Parka suffered the neck injury following a suicide dive spot to RUSH on the outside resulting in La Parka hitting his head on the bottom of the guard rail and requiring immediate medical assistance. Lucha Blog reported that La Parka was rushed to the hospital and underwent a lengthy surgery on Monday to relieve pressure and repair his fractured vertebrae. Dave Meltzer reported that there was an initial fear backstage of La Parka being paralyzed but he regained feeling in both his hands and legs prior to his surgery.
Lucha Libre AAA owner Dorian Roldan stated in a recent interview with Tv Azteca that La Parka was in stable condition following his surgery but will remain in critical condition for at least the next 48 hours.
Major League Wrestling released a statement on Monday clearing up any potential confusion, stating that the La Parka who was injured is not the same one who currently works for the company under the name LA Park and as the original La Parka in WCW.
MLW sends its thoughts and prayers out to La Parka AAA of @LuchaLibreAAA who was injured this weekend.
For those asking, LA Park (@laparktapia) is a different luchador than La Parka AAA. LA Park is in good health and joins us in wishing La Parka AAA a speedy recovery.

a quick reminder
– the man with the torn mask is LA Park. He was originally La Parka, you know him from WCW, he was *not* injured last night.
– the man with the complete mask is AAA's La Parka, the second version of the character. He was injured last night. pic.twitter.com/HHcO0r5Uwi
