More on Hell in a Cell’s Ending and Backstage Reactions

As noted before, the Universal Championship match between “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event this past Sunday ended in a ref stoppage. Predictably, the crowd was very upset at the decision and gave a chorus of boos and “AEW” chants to close out the show.

Vince McMahon reportedly was the person who made the call for the finish to the match, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported. Sapp also reported that based on those he spoke to immediately following the show, the general mood backstage from the roster and WWE officials was of unhappiness at Vince’s decision. It was also reported that Vince was seen laughing at the reaction the finish had caused from the crowd.

It was also reported that there has also been a growing resentment and criticisms backstage over several other questionable booking decisions made over the course of last week.
