AEW: New TV Series to Debut This Year, All Out Preview, Excalibur Update, Thunder Rosa

Second AEW TV Show Expected to Launch in Late 2020

As noted before, AEW and WarnerMedia signed a television extension deal this past January. Among the terms of the updated deal were the launch of a second AEW television series.

Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that plans for a secondary AEW television series are still in the works and the show currently is expected to officially debut later this year.

In regards to the network home for this new television series, it is currently not known if it will air on TNT, another WarnerMedia owned cable network, or HBO Max streaming service.

Date Announced for All Out Preview Special on TNT

AEW recently announced that TNT will be airing a new Countdown preview special for their All Out PPV on September 5th starting at 5:30 PM ET.

This is the same day as All Out, which starts at 8 PM ET for the main card.

Excalibur Status Update

As noted before, Excalibur has been away from AEW television since July 29th due to issues involving past controversial videos of him that had resurfaced online. Excalibur made his return to AEW last Wednesday but only for the tapings of this week’s episode of AEW Dark.

The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported that Excalibur is currently scheduled to make his official return to AEW Dynamite commentary on this Wednesday’s show.

Meltzer also said that it is currently not known why Excalibur’s return plans for AEW Dynamite were delayed (he was originally set to return last week) nor why he only worked at the tapings of AEW Dark last week.

Thunder Rosa Making AEW In-Ring Debut This Week

Thunder Rosa is currently scheduled to make her in-ring debut for AEW on this Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Rosa, who is the current NWA World Women’s Champion, is currently scheduled to face off against Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Championship at All Out on September 5th.
