New Trademarks Filed & Stone Cold Trademark Dispute

WWE recently filed several new trademarks to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Two trademarks for “Sin Cara” were filed on October 21st for merchandise-related purposes.

HeelByNature.com reported that WWE is currently involved in a trademark dispute regarding their ownership of the “Stone Cold” trademark. It was reported that NFL player Chris Jones recently filed a trademark for “Stone Cold Jones Soda” resulting in WWE filing opposition on October 14th. WWE reportedly is claiming that Jones’ trademark filing infringes on their trademarks for “Stone Cold” and “Stone Cold Steve Austin.” WWE also claims that their usage of the “Stone Cold” name predates Jones’ earliest usage of the phrase as part of their case for why Jones’ filing should be denied.
