WWE: NXT Women’s Tag Titles Being Planned, ThunderDome Update, WrestleMania 37 Tickets

WWE Reportedly Considering Plans for New NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE officials are currently considering plans to introduce a new NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship within the near future.

At the moment, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship is currently allowed to travel and be defended on WWE’s RAW, SmackDown, and NXT brands.

This past Wednesday’s episode of NXT featured a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match that ended in a big controversy. Following a NXT referee bump spot, WWE official Adam Pearce brought out a RAW referee to stop the match in favor of the defending champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler despite Dakota Kai not being the legal person on her team for the submission ending. After the match, NXT General Manager William Regal and Pearce got into a backstage argument with Regal mentioning afterwards that he would be making a big announcement on next week’s show that will “change the landscape of NXT”

WWE ThunderDome Status Update

As noted before, WWE is currently expected to move their ThunderDome stage from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida to a new venue in early April. The reason for the move is due to the Tampa Bay Rays needing the stadium for the upcoming MLB baseball season that starts next month.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE’s next location for their ThunderDome is currently speculated to be somewhere in the Tampa region. Meltzer reported that WWE’s ticketing department is still arranging flights to Tampa for their Monday and Friday shows after WrestleMania 37.

WrestleMania 37 Tickets Reportedly Going on Sale Soon

As noted before, WWE currently has plans for a limited amount of fans to attend their upcoming two-night WrestleMania 37 event on April 10-11 at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

It was also reported that WWE officials recently informed their talent that comp tickets for friends and family would be either severally limited or be completely unavailable due to their current COVID-19 protocols for the event.
