Dark Side of the Ring Season 3: First Trailer, Premiere Date, New Episodes Revealed

The first trailer for season three of Dark Side of the Ring has been released by Vice TV:

The season will premiere on Vice TV on Thursday, May 6 at 9 PM ET/PT.

Three new topics have also been revealed (via PWInsider):

  • The Ultimate Warrior
  • Bruiser Bedlam: Canadian wrestler who was arrested for murder, drug trafficking and bombing a police station.
  • The Plane Ride From Hell: A raucous WWE flight in 2002 that had a lot of drinking, fights and other incidents.

Here’s the list of 11 known topics so far. There will be 14 episodes this season.

  • The Ultimate Warrior
  • Brian Pillman
  • Dynamite Kid: Legendary wrestler who lost the ability to walk in his late 30s and suffered other health issues due to several injuries throughout his wrestling career
  • Nick Gage: Wrestler who specializes in death matches
  • Chris Kanyon: Former WCW/WWE wrestler who committed suicide in 2010 and talked about his struggles as a closeted gay man
  • Grizzly Smith: Smith is a former wrestler and the father of Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Rockin’ Robin and Sam Houston.
  • Bruiser Bedlam: Canadian wrestler who was arrested for murder, drug trafficking and bombing a police station.
  • The Plane Ride From Hell: A raucous WWE flight in 2002 that had a lot of drinking, fights and other incidents.
  • Collision in Korea: WCW and NJPW’s 1995 “Collision in Korea” Show in North Korea
  • XPW: Xtreme Pro Wrestling, a hardcore wrestling promotion founded in 1999 that had connections with the Los Angeles porn industry
  • FMW: Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling, a hardcore wrestling promotion in Japan from 1989-2002

Dark Side of the Ring, VICE TV’s most watched show of all time, exposes the hidden, heartbreaking, and untold stories of professional wrestling with intimate access to its subjects. The series chronicles the deeply personal and often controversial legacies surrounding the larger-than-life brawlers of the wrestling world, in a sport that draws tens of millions of fans around the globe to this day.

This season will continue the rich storytelling that defined seasons one and two, exploring some of the most dramatic moments in wrestling history with a compelling cast of insiders, many of whom are baring their souls on camera for the very first time.

The season 3 trailer unveils just a fraction of this year’s enormous and star-studded cast, which will include Chris Jericho, Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, Jon Moxley, Eric Bischoff, Jim Cornette, David Arquette and the former wife of Ultimate Warrior, Shari Tyree. It also teases six of the installments in this season’s 14-episode lineup; Brian Pillman, Nick Gage, Collision In Korea, Ultimate Warrior, Grizzly Smith and Dynamite Kid.

A formal series announcement revealing more of this season’s electrifying roster and explosive storylines will be released later this month.
