In-Ring: Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly, The Young Bucks, Best Friends, Britt Baker

Adam Cole makes his way to the ring alongside reDRagon and Cole says 2021 was a great year for them but 2022 is going to be even better. Cole says that he hasn’t been pinned since coming to AEW and he is undefeated in singles competition and “the boys are back together.” He calls reDRagon the “baddest team on God’s green earth.” He calls it a new era in AEW but The Young Bucks interrupt.

Kyle O’Reilly bitches about the Bucks interfering in their trios match two weeks ago and Matt Jackson says he needs to remind them that AEW is THEIR company and they are the longest reigning Tag Team Champions in AEW history. He says their New Year’s Resolution is to get their belts back and Fish says they have the same resolution. He says no team on the planet can stand between them and the titles and that includes the Bucks.

Cole says this friendly competition is exactly what they need and they are the best faction in AEW. Best Friends come out and Orange Cassidy attacks Cole! The Bucks, reDRagon and Best Friends spill to the outside but Cole low blows OC.

He’s about to Superkick OC but Kris Statlander cuts him off only for Dr. Britt Baker to attack her from behind. She Curb Stomps Statlander and then Cole hits the Boom!

The Elite pose together but instead of the Bucks kissing Cole, Baker does it.


CM Punk vs. Wardlow

A vignette highlights Wardlow’s history in AEW.

Wardlow runs Punk over and then starts beating him down in the corner. Wardlow charges at Punk but he moves and hits a series of kicks. Punk goes for GTS but Wardlow escapes and goes for the Powerbomb Symphony. Punk rolls to the floor and stares Wardlow down.

Wardlow tosses Punk around and charges at him but Punk gets his boot up again. Punk goes for a Tornado DDT off the top but Wardlow tosses him completely across the ring. Wardlow goes for the Powerbomb Symphony again but Punk escapes and hits a big Roundhouse Kick. Wardlow just gets pissed, so Punk hits a series of strikes but Wardlow refuses to go down.

Punk hits a series of clotheslines but Wardlow still stays up. Punk hits a bunch of strikes and then the Springboard Flying Clothesline that finally takes him down. Punk hits the Flying Knee in the corner and flips MJF off allowing Wardlow to hit a Powerbomb! Wardlow hits a second Powerbomb and then a third one and then a fourth! He hits a fifth Powerbomb and then goes to pin Punk but MJF tells him to stop and says he wants more.

Wardlow hits two more Powerbombs and MJF tells Wardlow to do it again but Punk was able to roll out as MJF was screaming at Wardlow. MJF tells Wardlow to Powerbomb through the timekeeper’s table and Wardlow obliges! Aubrey Edwards counts to nine but Punk rolls back in the ring and Wardlow looks annoyed as MJF tells him to Powerbomb him again.

Wardlow tries to pick Punk up but he just falls down but he as he goes to pick him back up Punk catches him with an inside cradle out of nowhere for the pin!

Winner: Punk via pinfall (inside cradle)

MJF screams at Wardlow and starts shoving him, which causes Wardlow to crab his arm and look like he’s about to attack him. Shawn Spears runs out and calms Wardlow down.


Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Dante Martin

This is a rematch from back in September when Hobbs beat Martin. Martin runs down to the ring and immediately attacks Hobbs. He hits a Flying Cross Body sending both men to the floor! Martin dives off the apron but Hobbs catches him and hits a nasty Spinebuster on the floor!

He throws Martin threw the ropes back in the ring and puts the boots to him. He hits a Delayed Vertical Suplex and then a second one before blatantly choking Martin. Hobbs hits a big Lariat as Martin tried to fight back. Martin hits a series of kicks as Hobbs went to pick him up but Hobbs just knocks him back to the mat.

Hobbs goes for the Rack but Martin escapes and kicks him into the ropes. Martin hits the ropes but Hobbs runs him over with a Flying Cross Body for two! Hobbs throws him back into the corner and starts biting him and connects with a bunch of strikes. He throws Dante hard into the opposite turnbuckle causing Martin to fly over the top to the floor. Starks puts the boots to Martin as Hobbs distracts the referee.

Dante hits a big Running Forearm but Hobbs just tosses him back. Hobbs charges at Martin but Martin leaps off the ropes only for Hobbs to catch him in midair. Martin escapes and hits a dropkick followed by a Leaping Enziguri. Martin hits a Shotgun Missile Dropkick for two!

Hobbs rolls to the floor but you damn sure aren’t safe out there! Martin hits a Springboard Tornillo onto Hobbs on the floor and then hits him with a dropkick as Hobbs tries to get back in the ring. Martin hits the ropes but eats another Cross Body from Hobbs and both men are down now. Martin rolls onto the apron and Starks tries to attack him but Jay Lethal runs down and attacks Martin. Martin hits the Nosedive on a shocked Hobbs for the pin!

Winner: Martin via pinfall (Nosedive)


Backstage: The Inner Circle, Eddie Kingston

Alex Marvez interviews the Inner Circle backstage and Jericho says since day one they promised to take over AEW. He says that if Terrence and Phillip try to get involved in Sammy’s match they’ll cut them down. Eddie Kingston interrupts and tells Jericho to mind his own business because Garcia is his business. Kingston tells PNP they aren’t tag champions because of Jericho. Jericho tells him they are a family and Kingston can shut his mouth. Jericho tells him to get out of their business. Santana and Ortiz walk off and Santana tells them both to get their shit together. Jericho tells Kingston that if 2point0 get involved tonight he will kick their asses and if Kingston gets involved he’ll kick his ass, too.


On-Stage: MJF

MJF says Punk won tonight but he got Powerbombed into oblivion. He says he got a fluke win but he won’t win next week and he’s going to make sure he takes his next L. MJF says no more running or hiding, next week it’s Punk vs. Shawn Spears.


Backstage: The Elite & Britt Baker

The Elite cut a promo backstage, and Baker and Cole challenge Statlander and OC to a match on Rampage.


In-Ring: Hangman Page, Dan Lambert, Lance Archer

Hangman Page comes out and says that over the last month he’s stood in the ring for over 90 minutes with one of the best wrestler on the planet and poured buckets of blood all for the AEW Championship. He calls it the most important championship in wrestling but says 90 minutes isn’t enough. He says the records have reset in AEW, so now he needs a new challenger.

Dan Lambert interrupts Page but Page says if Scorpio or Ethan Page want a shot at him they can tell him themselves instead of a “Walking Facebook Profile.” Lambert tells him to calm down and says he respects Page and says that he earned his spot unlike people like Cody Rhodes. Lambert says he’s earned everything he’s gotten except for his fake Cowboy gimmick. He tells him to keep the title and money but stop disrespecting legends like Blackjack Mulligan and Dick Murdoch by pretending to be something he’s not. He says Page is just full of Cowboy shit.

Page talks about growing up on a farm and tells him to get in the ring so he can shove his boot up his ass and show him how much of a cowboy he is. Lance Archer runs out and grabs Lambert but Lambert screams to leave him alone and not miss his chance. “What would Jake tell you to do” and Archer attacks Page! Archer hits sets up the chair and drops Page on it!


Backstage: Arn Anderson, Brock Anderson, Lee Johnson, FTR

Arn Anderson talks to Lee Johnson and Brock Anderson and tells them they’re in Horsemen country. FTR and Tully Blanchard walk up and thy tell Arn to drop the dead weight and join them because they can do much more for the Anderson name than his own son could. They challenge Brock and Johnson to a match for next week.


Hikaru Shida vs. Serena Deeb

Deeb attacks Shida as she made her entrance and takes her knee. She hits her with the kendo stick and slams her knee into the ring steps before the match even starts. Shida finally rolls into the ring and Deeb goes after her knee hanging it up in the ropes and stomping on it. She hangs Shida’s leg up in the ropes and hits a Dragon Screw and then cannonballs on top of it repeatedly.

Deeb hits another Dragon Screw Leg Whip and pulls her knee pad off revealing a knee brace. She rips the brace off and starts slamming her knee into the mat before locking in the Serenity Lock. The referee stops the match.

Winner: Deeb via referee stoppage

The AEW trainer checks on Shida but Deeb chases him off and starts hitting Shida’s knee with the kendo stick repeatedly. She ends up breaking the kendo stick over Shida’s knee.


Backstage: Christian & Jurassic Express, John Silver & Alex Reynolds

Tony Schiavone interviews Jurassic Express and Christian Cage backstage. Christian wishes well to Fenix and Jungle Boy says whoever wants a shot at their titles they’re down for it. The Beaver Boys walk up and says if they want a Top 5 team they’re here. Christian quips if they see a top 5 team to send them. Silver and Reynolds challenge JE to a match for Rampage.


Matt Hardy vs. Penta El Zero Miedo

Matt Hardy comes out and says he’s sorry that Fenix got hurt and for the downfall of the Lucha Brothers. He says their downfall started in the 10-mant tag a few weeks ago against the HFO. He says he will delete Penta tonight and send him to be with his brother in the hospital.

Penta is wearing his old school black and white gear for the first time in awhile. Pent and Hardy spam their taunts at each other until Penta kicks Matt. He Superkicks Matt and chops Matt.

Penta hits the Slingblade but Hardy comes back with a DDT for two. Hardy lifts Penta up to the top and goes for a Superplex but Penta slides through his legs and hangs Hardy upside down and Ghetto Stomps him! 1….2…NO Hardy kicks out!

Hardy rolls to the apron and Penta chases him as they chop each other. Penta goes for the Fear Factor but Hardy escapes and hits the Side Effect on the apron! Back in the ring, Hardy gets a nearfall and goes for the Twist of Fate only for Penta to block it and hit a Leaping Enziguri. He lifts Matt up to the top and goes for a Reverse Superplex but Hardy elbows him and knocks him off. Hardy goes for the Moonsault Press but Penta moves and hits the Fear Factor for the pin!

Winner: Penta via pinfall (Fear Factor)

Penta calls Malakai Black out and says he’ll show him some respect. The lights go out and when they come back on Black is in the ring and he attacks Abrahantes before hitting the Black Mass on Penta! Black tries to rip Penta’s mask off but the Varsity Blonds hit the ring and attack Black.

Black laughs at them and the lights go out again. When they come back on BRODY KING IS IN THE DAMN RING! Black and King destroy Penta and the Varsity Blonds!


Backstage: Kris Statlander, Red Velvet, Leyla Hirsch

Schiavone interviews Leyla Hirsch, Red Velvet and Statlander. Leyla cuts Statlander off from talking about her match next week and says that is selfish of them because they need to be worried about their match on Rampage. Statlander tells her to back off and Velvet tries to calm them both down.


The Acclaimed vs. Bear Country

Bear Country attacks The Acclaimed and Press Slams Bowens on top of Caster before hitting a Backsplash Senton. Bronson whips Boulder into Bowens in the corner and then throws him into an elbow. Bowens fights them off and Caster hits a Diving Cross Body.

Bowens goes for a Piledriver but Bronson blocks it and Cannonballs on top of Bowens before talking in Boulder. Boulder hits a Press Slam on Bowens and then goes for a Double Chokeslam on the Acclaimed only for them to cut him off. They both hit the ring but he catches them with a Double Flatliner! Bronson tags in and Bear Country goes for the Bear Bomb. Bowens pulls Caster out of the way and Bowens tosses Boulder to the floor. Caster rolls Bronson up for two but then eats a Forearm Smash. Bronson charges at Caster but he moves and Bowens hits a Jawbreaker. Caster hits the Mic Drop for the pin.

Winners: The Acclaimed via pinfall (Mic Drop)

Sting’s music hits and he walks out and Darby appears in the ring where he hits a Tope Suicida onto Caster! Sting lays Bowens out with the bat! Sting hits the Stinger Death Drop on Caster.


Video: Pac

In a video package, PAC says that Malakai Black may have blinded him but now he sees everything. PAC says that he appreciates the blessings he gave him and his vision has never been so clear.

Matt Hardy says it’s time he stops focusing on the future of AEW and focus on himself more. Andrade walks up and tells him he needs to focus because he is a businessman like him. Andrade says they both love money and says he wants to negotiate a deal with him that will benefit them both.


Interim TNT Championship
Sammy Guevara (c) vs. Daniel Garcia

Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho are both sitting ringside as is David Crockett. I’m having issues with Dish Network as Garcia and Guevara lock up. Garcia goes for a Back Suplex but Guevara escapes and hits a series of clotheslines. Sammy hits an Enziguri and then sets up for a dive but Garcia dives to the floor to escape. Sammy hits a Double Spring Somersault Plancha onto Garcia on the floor!

Sammy goes up top but Garcia sweeps his legs out from under him and hits a Lariat to the back followed by a Backdrop Driver! 1…2…NO Sammy kicks out! Garcia goes for a submission move but Sammy rolls him up for two. Sammy hits a Pump Kick and goes for the GTH but Garcia blocks it and locks in the Sharpshooter!

Sammy manages to get to the ropes to break the hold. Garcia goes for a Piledriver but Sammy backdrops him and sidesteps a charging Garcia. Guevara hits a Crossrhodes for two. Sammy goes to the top and attempts the Cody Cutter but Garcia catches him in midair with the Rear Naked Choke! He transitions into the Bulldog Choke and then a Spike Pildriver! 1…2…NO Guevara kicks out!

Garcia picks Sammy up but eats a Leaping Enziguri out of nowhere as 2point0 run down and attack Jericho and Kingston. They throw Jericho into the barricade as Sammy hits a Ripcord Knee. He goes for the GTH but Lee gets on the apron causing Sammy to drop him. Garcia rolls him up for two but Sammy shoves him into Parker and hits the GTH for the pin.

Winner & STILL interim TNT Champ: Guevara via pinfall (GTH)

2point0 attacks Guevara but Jericho and Kingston clean house. Kingston argues with Jericho as we go off the air.
