Jade Cargill Comments on Winning AEW TBS Title & Her Current Goals in AEW

Bleacher Report held a recent interview with Jade Cargill. Some of the topics discussed included her thoughts on becoming the first ever TBS Champion in AEW and her current goals in the company.

On the topic of her TBS Championship victory, Cargill stated:

“I felt as though the belt was always made for me. I’m very blessed. I’m very thankful. I feel like now the work has just kind of started. I feel like it is an honor to hold the belt. I feel like it’s a privilege to hold a belt in general. So, is there a lot of weight on my shoulders? Yes, but I always rise to the occasion. And one thing I love is a challenge. And I’m very thankful that Tony Khan has trusted me that I’m going to kill it because I’m going to do that.”

On the topic of her current goals in AEW, Cargill stated:

“I want to face everybody because everybody has different wrestling styles and I can use that to get better. However, the one person that everybody wants to wrestle, and that I want to wrestle, is Serena Deeb. I mean, she’s The Professor. I just think being in the ring with her is a privilege as it is and I want to work with her so bad. So whenever she’s ready, I’m ready.

“I want to go for the world title. But that’s gonna take time and right now, I’m just focused on just getting better in the ring, getting my time in, getting more comfortable and just opening up and being more of myself with my character. So that’s what I’m looking forward to right now.

I’m really focused on myself. I’m looking forward to having better matches with my co-workers. I’m looking to work outside of AEW as well when that time comes. I’m looking forward to just being around.”

Mickie James Comments on Her Appearance at WWE’s Royal Rumble 2022 Event

A recent episode of the GAW TV podcast had Mickie James as the guest. One of the topics discussed included James’ thoughts on competing in WWE’s Royal Rumble 2022 event this past weekend.

“I am [the] same. I didn’t love that at all [Melina getting eliminated early] but I did love that, you know, her entrance. The people did exactly what we knew they were gonna do. They erupted, they were like, ‘Holy sh*t.’ It was so good to see her back. She hadn’t been in WWE in over a decade so, I think that was amazing and to see her get teared up and it was just — it was awesome. I didn’t love the whole she got eliminated first, you know? I didn’t love that obviously because I wanted to be able to be in there with her and tangle it up and I wanted her to have those moments with some of the other girls, you know, in there but I know it was special for Sasha [Banks] because I know Sasha. I know it was special for Sasha to be in there with her. I loved Lita’s stuff, I thought Lita killed it. I felt like — I think the people were really shocked — I think they were surprised and not surprised that Ronda [Rousey] was the big surprise but I thought the whole thing with her and Ashley [Charlotte Flair] at the end was kind of cool, you know? It was cool to see. It was obviously a big deal for Ashley, I mean Charlotte to enter herself in as the champion in the Rumble. It’s the first time that-that had ever been done either. I watch Ashley out there and I’m gonna be honest, she is one of the best wrestlers I’ve ever seen in my life, male or female. Watching her in the ring and when I went back to watch the Rumble and say what you will but, she operates on a different level. Her everything matters, every moment, every — like, her facials are on point, she takes her time, she doesn’t rush, she breathes. Like all the right things to what makes wrestling magic, you know what I mean? And you need that constant in the ring with the people that can then go and do all the this other crazy sh*t to balance the whole thing out and it was cool, it was cool.”

Rawley revealed that the main reason why he had been away from wrestling for the past nineteen months was due to him suffering from a very bad case of COVID-19. Rawley stated:

“I’ve been asked a ton about when I’m coming back to wrestling or if I’m officially retired. Let me go ahead and answer that now. About 19 months ago, I COVID extremely badly. I had to go to the hospital, I almost died, and my lungs were in really bad shape, so much so that in the beginning, I couldn’t have any extra pressure on my lungs or else it would suffocate e. I couldn’t even speak for days on end because I couldn’t get enough air in to talk. Maybe the scariest part of the whole thing was the fact that the doctors had no idea what to say because of the fact that it was so new. Fast forward, 19 months later, and I’m not quite 100%, but I’m getting pretty close. My training has been kicked up and I’m feeling good enough to announce, officially, I’m coming back to wrestling. COVID thought it got me, but it must have forgot, I STAY HYPED!”
