Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier
Darby Allin vs. Swerve Strickland

Darby Allin and Shane “Swerve” Strickland stare across the ring from each other and then the bell sounds to get this one off-and-running. We see some back-and-forth action in the early goings and then Allin hits a big spot and goes for the pin immediately.

Strickland kicks out, fights back and dumps Allin out to the floor. He follows him out with a huge high spot from the ring to the floor. The crowd popped huge for that. After this, we head to a mid-match commercial break as the action continues.

Ricky Starks comes down from the commentary table, but Sting stops him. Off the distraction, Darby Allin puts Swerve in a pinning predicament with the Last Supper for the win.

With the victory, Darby Allin advances as the next participant in the inaugural Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Backstage: Shawn Spears

We shoot backstage after this to a quick word from “The Chairman of AEW” Shawn Spears. He says another hint for who Wardlow’s opponent on Dynamite is is that he’s “seven feet tall.” Spears talks about how Wardlow is no longer protected and because of that, The Pinnacle is going to put an end to him once and for all.

On-Stage: Chris Jericho, Santana & Ortiz

As we head back inside the arena, we hear Chris Jericho on commentary announcing himself as the “Sports Entertainer of the Week” because of his savage fireball in the eye attack on Eddie Kingston on Dynamite.

Out of nowhere, we see Santana & Ortiz arrive on the scene and they begin attacking Jericho. They beat him down and leave him laying as we head to another commercial break.

When we return from the break, Jericho reacts to the attack from Santana & Ortiz and then announces that he has gotten it agreed to by Tony Khan that he will face Santana in a one-on-one match next week on Dynamite.

Trios Match
Jade Cargill, Red Velvet & Kiera Hogan vs. Skye Blue, Willow Nightingale & Trish Adora

The bell sounds and we’re off-and-running with this six-woman tag-team bout. After making it clear he is a professional and can rise above it, we hear Jericho talk with the rest of the commentary team about the dominance displayed by Cargill in recent weeks.

This one doesn’t last long at all, as following some offensive spurts from Willow on her team, the finish sees Trish hoisted up by Jade Cargill for Jaded. She follows up with the pin fall victory. Basic, quick contest here.

Winners: Jade Cargill, Kiera Hogan & Red Velvet

Backstage: Darby Allin, Swerve Strickland

We shoot backstage where Tony Schiavone is standing by with Shane Strickland and Darby Allin. Allin promises he had nothing to do with the attack from Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs.

Strickland says he knows he didn’t and actually hopes he wins the whole Owen Hart Foundation Tournament to represent for their region.

He then says he’s just got more of a reason to go after Starks and Hobbs now and mentions needing to hit up his buddy Keith Lee.

Keith Lee vs. Colten Gunn

The bell sounds and we’re off-and-running with this one. Lee begins dominating as soon as the bell sounds. The crowd chants something directed at Gunn as Lee takes it to The Gunn Club member.

Lee backs Gunn in a corner and blasts him with a chop that echoes throughout the arena. After this, we hear Excalibur on commentary talking us into a mid-match commercial break as the action continues in the ring.

As we settle back in from the break, we see Lee still controlling things with ease — which the commentators point out. Austin Gunn is shown at ringside and Lee taunts him. He goes for a big splash on Colten in the corner, however Austin hops on the ring apron and ends up taking the bullet for him.

Lee turns around into a big shot from Colten, who looks to follow-up with the FameAsser, however Lee cuts him off and hoists him up and then he pancakes him with his finisher (formerly called the Big Bang Catastrophe) for the pin fall victory.

Winner: Keith Lee

Backstage: The Hardys

There will be a Jeff Hardy vs. Bobby Fish qualifying match for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament on next Wednesday’s Dynamite.

We see Matt and Jeff Hardy standing together backstage. Jeff says there’s no way Fish is beating him next week and then says he can’t wait for the tourney because he can give fans dream matches, such as Jeff Hardy vs. Darby Allin.

Matt Hardy chimes in and says that’s possible now that Darby has qualified for the tourney. He wraps up by vowing his brother will win after hitting a Swanton bomb.

Backstage: Adam Cole, reDRagon, The Young Bucks

Elsewhere backstage on the Cutler Cam, The Undisputed Elite cut promos on the Hardys ahead of Fish’s match against Jeff on Dynamite.

In-Ring: Danhausen, HOOK, Tony Nese & Mark Sterling

Danhausen gets on the mic and calls out Hook, who answers the call and heads to the ring with his fists taped up.

A scared Danhausen doesn’t feel it and says maybe they’ll fight another time. Hook says they’ll fight right now.

Out comes “Smart” Mark Sterling before anything happens. He says no one wants to see this fight and asks the fans, who couldn’t disagree louder.

Finally, out of the blue we see Tony Nese attack Hook and Danhausen from behind. The crowd boos but it isn’t long before they get what they want, as Hook fights back and takes out Nese with a suplex for a big pop.

Nese and Sterling retreat down the ramp away from Hook, and Danhausen puts a curse on them.

Danhausen extends his hand in friendship, but Hook angrily grabs him, then lets him go and walks backstage.

Backstage: The Gunn Club, The Acclaimed

We shoot backstage where Lexy is with Austin and Colten Gunn. The Gunn Club is asked about Colten suffering his first loss in singles action against Keith Lee.

In walks The Acclaimed, who make an offer to ally with each other and “scissor” together.

The Gunn Club say they have to go ask their daddy, Billy Gunn, and they walk off.

Martinez cuts a promo ahead of her ROH Women’s Championship match against Deonna Purrazzo on Dynamite.

ROH Television Championship
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Trent Beretta

We shoot backstage where it’s time for the weekly pre-main event split-screen interview with Mark Henry. “The World’s Strongest Man” sends things first to the ROH Television Champion. With that said, we hear from Samoa Joe. He vows that Trent will pass out before he ever walks out of the building they are in. Trent calls Joe a big scary man, and he says he might think he’s going to kill him, but he’s got news for him — he’s not. Mark Henry chimes back in and does his usual “Well, it’s been enough talk and it’s time for the main event!” catchphrase.

Now Ian Riccaboni joins the gang on commentary as he will provide a special guest call along with the usual announce team for our main event. The ROH ring announcer then takes over in the ring as he introduces the challenger for this championship main event.

On that note, out comes Trent accompanied by Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy. He settles inside the ring and waits for the entrance of his opponent.

Now the theme for Samoa Joe hits and the ROH Television Champion emerges. The fans chant his name as he heads down to the ring for our final match of the evening here on this week’s Rampage.

The two shake hands to adhere to the honor code in ROH matches. From there, the bell sounds to get this one off-and-running. We see Joe take it to Trent straight out of the gate. He ends up dumping him out to the floor.

He goes for a running dive but hits the breaks when he sees Trent move. He goes to hop back on the ring apron, but hops into a running knee from Trent, who follows up by building up a full head of steam before connecting with an awe-inspiring Asai moonsault.

We see the action find its’ way back in the ring where Joe hits a big high boot on Trent. After landing the shot, Excalibur talks us into a mid-match commercial break as the action continues.

As we settle back in from the break, we see Trent getting in some offense before Joe takes over once again. He hoists him up for the Muscle Buster and uranage and soon thereafter, we see him sink in a rear choke for the victory.

Winner and STILL ROH TV Champion: Samoa Joe

With the win, Samoa Joe successfully retains his ROH Television Championship. Once the match wraps up, we are told that Tony Schiavone is going to attempt to get a word with the big man. Schiavone tells Joe to catch his breath and then he mentions him winning and retaining his title tonight.

Before he can say much of anything, we hear the theme song of Jay Lethal.

As Jay Lethal and Satnam Singh make their way down to the ring, we see Orange Cassidy try to stop them. He marches up to the enormous Singh and sticks his hands in his pockets before doing his “sweet shin music” wimpy kicks. Lethal pushes past Singh and knocks out Cassidy.

He then hits the ring and we watch as Lethal and Joe duke it out, trading big shots back-and-forth as Excalibur points out the years-worth of history behind this brawl. A ton of officials hit the ring and try and separate the two as we head off the air.
