AEW Injury Updates: Buddy Matthews, The Bunny and More Dealing With Injuries

  • Bryan Danielson – Danielson said last night on Dynamite that he isn’t medically cleared to wrestle at Forbidden Door this Sunday or at Blood & Guts next Wednesday. It’s unclear what his injury is, but he said that he feels great and will be back.
  • Buddy Matthews – Matthews said on Instagram that he’s been dealing with a shoulder injury, but has apparently been working through it. “Dealing with a shoulder injury which limits a lot of my shoulder movements. But slowly increasing the weight again. He better than you were yesterday!” he said on Instagram.
  • The Bunny – The Bunny said on Twitter that she’s currently out with an injury. “I’m injured right now but I’ll be back in the ring once I’m all healed up ☺️🖤” She last wrestled on a Dark: Elevation taping on April 20.
  • Red Velvet – Jade Cargill said last night on Dynamite that Red Velvet is currently out with an injury. It’s unclear what it is. Velvet last wrestled on a Rampage taping on June 8.
  • Skye Blue – Skye Blue is also out with an injury, according to PWInsider. She last wrestled on a June 3 Dark taping.
  • Lee Johnson – Johnson is out with a knee injury and is expected to be out for at least the next few months, according to Fightful Select. He last wrestled at an AEW Dark taping on May 1.
  • Darius Martin – AEW hopes to have him back by the end of 2022, Fightful says, but that’s not guaranteed. He’s been out since April after being involved in a car accident.

Other notable AEW wrestlers dealing with injuries are of course CM Punk, Kenny Omega, Jeff Hardy (now out for other reasons…), Anthony Bowens and Scorpio Sky.
