Andrade El Idolo Dealing with Ankle Injury

While responding to a fan question on Twitter, AEW CEO Tony Khan revealed that the reason why Andrade El Idolo has been out of action for the past several weeks is due to him currently recovering from an undisclosed injury.

Andrade confirmed on Twitter that he did indeed recently suffer an injury but it was not serious and he is currently expected to be medically cleared in about two weeks.

In a follow up tweet, Andrade revealed that the nature of his injury was inflammation in his ankle.

Santana Injury Status Update

As noted before, Santana has been out of action for AEW since suffering a knee injury at AEW’s Dynamite Blood & Guts 2022 event last month.

A recent episode of the True Gordie podcast had Chris Jericho as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Jericho revealing that Santana is currently expected to be out of action for at least eight months.

“He f*cked up his knee from doing a simple Rock Bottom. That’s not on top of a cage, that’s not falling off a cage, that’s not getting hit with a barbed wire bat, or whatever. It’s doing a wrestling move, and he’s out eight months.”

Adam Cole Injury Status Update

As noted before, Adam Cole has been out of action for AEW since this past June due to him suffering a concussion injury at AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s co-promoted Forbidden Door event.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that Cole recently opted to not undergo surgery for a torn labrum injury he has been dealing with for some time. Those same sources also stated that AEW’s timetable for Cole’s return is currently based on when he recovers from his concussion injury.

In regards to his two injuries, Cole’s concussion injury reportedly is currently recovering the better of the two.
